Oh boy. It's begun. (kind of long)

I don't know if any of you remember my post a couple weeks ago about coming out to family. I have been hesitant to tell my mom anything because she has a tendency to overreact.

Well yesterday I let the cat out of the bag. I was talking to her and Dr. Droesch was beeping through on the other line. I told her I had to take the call and she got offended So I said it's the doctor I have to go.

I call her back and naturally she starts questioning me about the doctor, why they were calling etc. She had already seen the bruises on my arms from all the blood draws. So I told her. She promised she would never ask me about it again and assured me that everything would be okay and this happens to more people then I would know - took it MUCH better than I thought. Her voice also started quivering a bit when she said we could always come to them for anything, even $ (mind you everything is covered 100% by insurance and we are financially secure, no debt nada).

Cut to today. We have a nice day out and about...we all go out to a nice dinner. There was a brief mention of me having to go to some church and say a prayer for them to heal me in a different country no less Okay fine.

We just got home a little while ago and DH finds an envelope in our vanity. My parents left $500 in cash!!!! I just don't get it?! I totally knew they were going to overreact.

I just hope I get pregnant soon!!! I have enough to deal with - now I have to deal with their insanity too!

oh boy! I am on the verge of telling my mom as well. We live in a different state and I just haven't felt comfortable talking about it over the phone....plus, I am scared for the overreaction too. But, I really can't take much more of her talking about everyone else she knows who has grandkids and about how badly she wants grandkids!
Anyway, I am visiting my parents next week and may talk with them. I hope they take it as well as your mom did. My insurance doesn't cover everything, so an envelope with money would be welcome!

Your parents are the best. Maybe the $500 is for airfare to get to that church to say your prayer

Yes they are definitely wonderful and we are very lucky to have such a supportive family!

There is just no way in the world we would ever accept it since we honestly don't need it.

Next time we go over to their house we are going to do the same thing to them and write "nice try" on the envelope

They probably just don't know what else they can do. My parents would probably react similar if they knew all I had been through for my ds. It was hard since I talk to my mom almost every day and see her like 2x a week, but I kept it between dh , this site and myself.
