OH BOY WHAT A DAY
Now I am just LAUGHING....
First read this if you havent already... http://www.lifamilies.com/chat/topic-99710-1.html
I called Slomins and paid the stupid Contract. They sent someone here. Guy comes and Mike puts the dog on a leash. He gets out of the truck and Tells Mike "put the dog away" Mike is like he's on a leash! The guy is like im not coming in that house until you put him away.
There is nowhere for me to put him. FOR REAL! We once put him in the backroom and he ate through the lamp wire dug up the carpet (trying to dig a hole under the door) and then decided to JUMP out the window and let himself through the french doors!
Mike tells him call your supervisor. The guy gets back in his truck and leaves

Re: OH BOY WHAT A DAY
A lot of people have problems with dogs. It's annoying that it happened, but if he didnt feel comfortable, then he did the right thing.

Re: OH BOY WHAT A DAY
I have to side with the repairman on this one. I have three dogs and they are put away when someone comes over. The liability if one of them was to hurt someone is too great. My dogs are big mushes and I still wouldn't trust them around strangers. This guy may have had a bad experience with dogs and doesn't trust any of them. I love dogs, but, I won't enter a strange home if they are not put away. Even though your dog is leashed, the possibility exists that the leash could break. I'm sorry to say, but, I would have left as well. I know that stinks and you're trying to get a repair done, but, try to see it from his point of view. I hope they send someone else to get the work done.

Re: OH BOY WHAT A DAY
Put him in a room behind a closed door for a little while. If someone has a dog phobia that is the polite thing to do. Or one of you could have taken him/her for a walk.
If you want the repair guy there so bad, you should have accomodated him. I'm sorry that I am on the repair guy's side!

But I told you that he DESTROYED my carpet and JUMPED through a window I actually have pictures of it.
And I have no problem taking him for a walk but if the boiler takes 4 hours to fix should I be out with him for 4 hours
And it's fine to not like dog's. I don't EVER talk to dog's I don't know. I ask first. If I am told they are ok. I will say hello. I understand not everyone is like that but... He was getting paid to do this. Its not like he was coming over for TEA and CRUMPETS.
People on here have been to my house. They now that I take great strides to keep my dog away from them if they aren' comfortable!

my mom once had this really weird baby gate with giant spaces between the bars, not the little ones, and her dog managed to pull it off the wall and run around the house with the gate around her neck i still agree with you though and while there isn't really much you can do i would make sure to call another company next time

OMG I have visions of that
It just stinks. I thought I was doing a nice thing by putting him a leash and keeping him away from the guy
