Oh Goodness!!!!! His favorite stuffed lion is going in the wash!!! Fingers crossed!!!!
DS will not go anywhere without his lion. You can see it in his avatar pic. Before a new one can get to us, we had to wash it. DH is now putting it in the wash while I'm at work.  I couldn't watch it happen.
We could care less if the music box inside still works, but we hope his lion is okay through the hand wash in the machine.

HE MADE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He was put in one of those laundry lingerie bags. But he made it through!!!!!!!!!

the boy I watch carries a bear EVERYWHERE. The thing smells so bad, I am tempted to throw it in the wash one day while he is here....but I was nervous to do it.

I'm glad he made it. I recently read that if your child has a "lovee" that you can get a duplicate or two of it's a good idea. At the very least take a photo of it and write down the info on the label in case you have to find a replacement someday.
My cousin's DS had a bear he called "hugga". She had 3 of them and when one got dirty he would give it to her and ask for a clean one and then she'd wash the dirty one.

Take it from a mom of a 9 year old who is still extremely attached to her baby blanket...BUY THE SPARE LION!!!!!!!
Im glad to hear that it made it through the washer and thank goodness it didnt escape out the dryer to join the land of missing socks!

order it!!!!!!!!!! my dd had a favorite and by the time I went to order it it was discontinued--I had to hunt it down! go get it now

agree with others.. buy it now. My neice would always drop hers in the store and my sister didnt realize it, and would leave store. Neice would cry cry cry.. luckily when she got back to the store, someone had returned to lost and found so she was able to get back. but that was b/c it was ragged looking, if it was bran newish she may not have gotten back.
