Oh man, i might have celiac disease.....
and im not happy at all. I have one more test (an endoscopy) to find out if i have it. For those that dont know, celiac disease means i cannot eat any wheat gluten. Ugghhhh, im italian adn love bread and pasta. I will have to see a nutritionist and everything. No cookies and cakes eihter. Well, at least the cakes and cookies i love. I have to buy the ones that probably taste like cardboard. LOL
On the bright side, im sure i will lose a lot of weight. Sorry for the vent. Im just feeling sorry for my poor taste buds.

I know someone with celian disease and while it can be a pain sometimes, she said that she's adjusted really well and can find something to eat almost anywhere. Hope you don't have it

I have had intestinal problems for a long time and i finally decided to go to a gastro doctor. I had to get blood work done and an GI series done on my small bowel. Well, the GI showed some celiace sprue (also known as celiac disease). The blood work also showed that Im low in Vitamin B12 which could be a result from celiac because that disease prevents me from absorbing certain nutrients. Im also anemic, but i knew that for a while. the Dr. wants to also give me some vitamin B12 shots. I guess that can explain why im always so damn tired. Your mom knows i was going for test. At first we were thinking maybe a mild version of Crohns like your mom. This will be a hard adjustment for me. But, if i dont take care of it it could lead to more problems later in life.

i would love to see you again next weekend would be good im still waiting for my mom to send the pics of us so i can post them. Gabriel is doing great hows Paige handling the teething ?? i really hope she isnt having too much pain with it.

Sorry to hear this :( My dd is being tested for this next week via upper GI series.
What's the difference between Celiac and Crohn's? My SIL has crohn's although she often cheats and still eats wheat products! Then pays for it later.

My mom was diagnosed with celiac last year. She doesn't find the diet as hard to follow as you would think. There is still plenty of things you can have. You just have to get used to it and be a little creative. She had NO GI symptoms at all and they didn't find it until she developed oesteoporosis which is also a symptom. Let me know if you have any questions about it.

Have you been checked for prenicious anemia? My maternal grandfather and paternal grandmother had this. The symptoms are similar - I know my grandmother had this similar issue. She gets regular once a month B12 shots - which are not a big deal and she is now fine.
I hope they find out what exactly is bothering you and I hope you feel better soon

Good luck with your test. This seems to be becoming all too common, my SIL was just diagnosed two weeks ago with this. She is adjusting. She had to change her shampoo, toothpaste, some household products too!.
As an IBS sufferer, I can empathize so vent away.

A colleague of mine has this and he actually says that getting the diagonsis was the best thing that happened to him - he is in incredible health now and eats such healthy foods. He said once he was diagnosed and changed his eating habits he felt worlds better.
