Oh my goodness - is this normal?? 1st shoe related..
I bought DD her 1st pair of Stride Rite sneakers yesterday. So I put them on so she can get used to them and she's screaming!!! She won't walk. Just stands there crying and crying.
I don't think they are too tight or anything. I just think she's not used to them. Should I take them off or let her s u c k it up!?!

this may seem silly but why don't you bring her to a shoe shop and have her pick out her fave from a selection. that may excite her and make her want to put the shoes she chose herself.

Did she curl up her toes? If they were tied up that way it may be uncomfy for her. I have a toe curler.

I don't think so. What do I do to fix it? She's sooooo mad.
Here's a pic for Paulette

Heres what I am thinking...maybe ...is her other sneakers/shoes low top? Maybe the high top is disabling her ankle a bit? Maybe she feels pressure when walking? OR maybe she just thinks they are fugly and the kids will make fun of her...LOL (kidding)

I've NEVER put shoes on her other than Robeez. I always kept her barefoot. So I understand this a big change. She refuses to stand up or walk. I don't want to take the off, because then she'll learn "if I cry, I don't have to wear them"
I agree - they are not the most attractive things, but she is an "extra wide" there is NOOOOO selection

Shoes are new, feel strange, different, etc. A lot of DC do this. DD did that a few months ago, now she loves them. I think it's just another transition thing that they have to go through...

I agree. they just have to get used to them...DD did this too, hated her shoes. NOW fast fwd a few mths...she loves her shoes and brings them to me to put on in the AM, when her feety PJs are still on Give her time, just keep putting them on - and then distract her with a fun toy/game so she isnt so upset, shell get used to the way they feel, promise!
very cute BTW

My boys did the same thing, because my PED said to hev them walk barefoot, Matthew screamed and would NOT stand up when I put them on. They still get a little mad, but I guess it was my fault for not doing it enough. They will get used to it
