Oh No, What is Wrong With Me?

I just returned from Dominican Republic (there 5 days)

Beginning yesterday afternoon I had intense on and off upper abdominal pain that actually stopped me in my tracks and hurled me over. I have had the worst bout of diarrhea that I have ever had in my life (went like 24 times in 24 hours)

Now I am home and its not getting better, its been about 35 hours since it started. No fever, no vomitting, but such intense cramping.

I am getting scared and considering going to the ER but since i have no fever and vomitting I feel like I should just try and get through it.

Any thoughts????????

I'd drink a lot of water and see how it goes. You may have eaten something that just doesn't agree with you. Plus, with diarrhea, you can dehydrate quickly.

OMG that sounds like what my friend had. Her fiancee's firehouse planned a big trip to the Dominican Republic. Within the week they got back, a bunch of them (at least 7 or 8) were sick with an odd stomach virus and abdominal pains and some of them were even admitted to the hospital for a bacterial infection in the GI tract.

If it doesnt get better I would head to the ER! Ironically she went to the ER and bumped into 2 other people from the trip at South Nassau at the same time. It was horrible.

ETA: Another friend of DH's went to DR a few weeks ago and also got a bad stomach virus after. That is one place I will NEVER go.
