OH WHAT A NIGHT!
UGH!!!
Last night was probably the worst night I have had with Megan since she was born. She went to bed a little earlier than usual because she wasnt feeling very well. Slight fever and her nose was running. Ok..give her tylenol, she falls asleep around 8 30.
I go to bed around 2. She is up at 3 30. Shes screaming her head off, I get up to get her, dh lies there. Fine..her nose is running a bit. I felt bad for her. I pick her up. Change her diaper to make her more comfy. Aspirate her nose. Wipe her face. And then try to rock her to sleep. She would fall asleep and the second I went to put her back down in the crib, she would be wide awake, screaming! This went on for literally 3 hours I couldnt take it anymore. I tried to let her cry in the crib to tire herself out, but I felt so bad because I knew she didnt feel well. So I go back to get her. Now its 6 in the morning, I am watching the sun come up. Dh finally gets up like hes a hero. She starts reaching for him and crawling out of my arms to get to HIM! So fine, I let her go. Not more than 10 minutes later, she is asleep in her crib. So of course I am happy shes sleeping but SO HURT she only wanted him. I know I shouldnt feel that way but I do.
So now my dh is walking around with this stupid grin on his face, I am tired as all h ell and I have a headache. She seems to be feeling better but now I am nervous that this is going to become a nightly thing. DOnt know what I am asking for, maybe just needed to type it out. Thanks for reading.

Re: OH WHAT A NIGHT!
I'm sorry..but glad to hear she is feeling better. I guess being the mommy is a thankless job. As far as your husband goes, the next time this happens you now have perfect ammo to say to him "since you were able to calm her down the last time why don't you go and comfort her" and then you can sleep until 6.

Don't worry, Noreen. It's not going to be a permanent thing. Remember two weeks ago when we had the same thing over here and you told me not to worry? Well, now I'm telling YOU not to worry. Try to get some rest today and let the "hero" do some of the work

I hope your able to get some rest. Don't worry, it'll pass, but if it happens tonight, remind DH Meagn wants him, make DH get up and you get some more sleep.

Re: OH WHAT A NIGHT!
Ok the first thing you need to do is get a very large frying pan and just whack your husband over the head with it. That ought to wipe that smile off his face real quick.
And second---you shouldn't feel bad that Megan wanted DH. My son does this to me all the time. We were at my mom's house before and my son fell and hurt himself. Who does he go crying to? My mother. I had my arms out to him as he was walking and he just bypassed me and went straight to her...
Anyways...glad to hear Megan is feeling better. I don't think it should be a recurring thing. DS cries out in his sleep when his teething hurts really bad or if he is sick. So hopefully Megan should be fine...

Re: OH WHAT A NIGHT!
Im sorry that on top of it being a bad night for you both, it seemed liek you couldnt comfort her. My niece does the same thing to my SIL..and will instantly fall asleep with BIL. DONT take it personally.
HOpe its a one time event!
