Ohhhhhhhhhhh what a day!
So, the movers arrive 8am, sharp. Off to a good start, I'd say! They pack up and unpack everything at the apartment by 10:30am. Cool! Only thing left is the furniture delivery and then unpack! I was given EVERY assurance yesterday by the delivery company, customer service and the store that our stuff would be delivered at 10:30am.
So, 10:30am comes and goes. 11:30pm, delivery company calls - changing the time to 1pm, but we PROMISE it will get delivered before the 3:30pm cutoff.
12:30pm driver calls. Will arrive at 1:30.
1:30 passes.
Call the delivery company. BUSY FOR 30 FREAKIN' MINUTES.
Call delivery man. Where are you? He tells me he's about 10 blocks away, but has 3 deliveries to complete before getting to me. Right now it's 2pm. I scream as many obscenities as I can, even pull the "this is a sick, elderly person, you can't do this!" He laughs, and tells me if I have a problem, call the manager.
So, I call DH. He calls the manager he spoke to the day prior and works his magic again. Mind you it's now 2:30pm, and the elevator doors are glued SHUT at 3:30pm.
We wait an agonizing 30 minutes. It's 3pm. Get a call from the manager. "The delivery men have been instructed to drop everything they are doing and they will be there in five minutes."
3:10pm. Delivery men arrive.
3:30pm. Furniture is delivered.
Whew.
Now, we just have to replace the WRONG end tables they delivered, and get the entertainment center that was apparently not in stock, even though they GUARANTEE everything is in stock
Long story short - he's moved in. Kinda.
Off to take a hot bath!! G'night!

Ohh man, Beth! I would have needed a strong sedative after a day like that! But otherwise, congrats on having you house back . Glad Dad is all settled somewhat. Hope that bath did a world of good!
Congrats on a job well done..
