Would you buy more now since they are dropping , or wait.. Will it drop lower anyone think?

We are trying to time a fill up for winter at the best prices.

TIA!!

Donna, the prices are really good right now....waiting is a big gamble. Hopefully things are going to rebound in the markets (praying to god they do) and oil will go up again. historically home heating oil prices never really go down once the season starts, they either stay about the same or go up because of demand.
Unless you're an expert, don't try to time the market.

Re: oil prices

OPEC has called for an emergency meeting to discuss cutting back production. if they do that will drive prices back up. until then, i dont see them going up no matter what the stock market does. the price all depends on how much the consumer uses and right now the consumption is down across the board. i'm waiting a little longer until i get an oil delivery.

I agree to a certain extent but speculators drive the price too & when the market was under 8000 right after the bell this morning oil was under $80, now the market has leveled a bit & oil is back at $82

Re: oil prices

With some companies they offer a "ceiling plan"

I just signed with Petro in nassau county. I was given a ceiling price of 3.79 so I am assured that even if oil goes into 4+ dollars I will only pay 3.79.

The best part is, if it goes cheaper I take advantage of that because there is no bottom on the plan. Only drawback is that charge a percentage higher than the market rate.

So if I were to get COD they would charge 3.12 on the last quote, but in this plan it was .10 higher per gal.

In the end I think it was good deal.

Even if it gets better... $2.82 is still a great price. I would buy.
