OK - I have had enough now Update: Yes I have!

This is the fourth day that I cant sleep because of this freikkin cough. I thought it was getting better but tonight is the worst. I woke up after only 1/2 an hour sleeping, cant stop coughing and coughed so hard I... well you dont want to know. Now I feel like somehting is stuck in my throat, my ears hurt, my chest hurts, and I am tired. After an hour, some tea, and a nebulizer treatment I finally stopped coughing. But I know once I lay down it will start again. I just want a good nights sleep already


And I'm not due for more cough medicine for another 2 hours

i know how you feel! try a steam shower, sit in the bathroom for abour 10 min with hot water running, then go outside for about 10 min and that should help. kryssy is a server asthmatic and this usually helps! feel better

Pauline - have you gone to a doctor for the cough? If it's waking you up, you need something stronger or even an antibiotic. I was like that for a week until it hurt and when I breathed. Turns out it was more serious than a cough. Pneumonia takes a longer time to get over. The last thing you need is a weakened immune systems as we head into flu season.

thanks. I am going to see my PCP today, but I have been on antibiotics since Friday, some things are better but my cough and breathing is worse. An NP from work looked at my ears yesterday and both are infected so she gave me ear drops. I have been taking Robitussin around the clock but it doesnt do much.

I am going to get better drugs today. I CAN NOT go on like this. I was able to sleep for about 4 hours by sitting up almost straight.

I was going to suggest sitting up more while you sleep, but looks like you tried that too.

I know how you feel - I have been coughing since last Wednesday. I sleep on the couch every night so I am sitting up. Last nite, I literally slept with a bottle of Robitussin and the dog . This morning I feel the same except I think the cough has turned into a full blown cold

I am feeling much better. I just love my PCP my cough is not gone but I can breathe again so its much less disturbing. It ssuccks when you cant get enough air to get a good cough.

He gave me some shots of steroids and stuff, he was so funny he said this is a little outside the box but thats why you come here. Literally within seconds I could breathe. I left with several RX but one for some super duper cough medicine and I actually was able to get some sleep.

Glad you are getting some relief!! We gotta keep you healthy for upcoming events and stuff...
