I heard of lips - the bride is not into the drag queen thing.
I remember the episode of S&TC where they went to that restaurant!! I'm going to have to see if they have a website!!
Thanks ladies, keep 'em coming!

Sala is fun!
There's also a pan-asianish (I think mostly Vietnamese) bar down on teh Lower East side - I think it may be on Rivington - that has fab cocktails and a loungy feel. Food was pretty good too and CHEAP. Can't remember the name, but will try to find out and post for you.
ETA: Oh, here we go, it's called Verlaine, 110 Rivington Street or here's the City Search review:
Editorial Rating: Recommended The Scene Three writers created this striking, double-height lounge and named it after their favorite drinking, writing and carousing young poet, Paul Verlaine. In addition to the literary crowd, artists, film folks and professional nightlifers flock for the DJ-quality music and peacefully ambient vibe. The golden-washed, minimalist space, with black banquettes and furry pillows, provides a warm and mellow refuge.
The Draw Clean, bright Vietnamese flavors permeate drinks and a chopstick-friendly small plate menu. Hanoi martinis, mixed with vodka, lychee syrup and pineapple juice, go down sweet and easy; by the time you near the lychee at the bottom, you'll be grabbing for that drink list again. More tempting choices include the sake cosmo, signature Rimbaud in Tetla with coconut rum, passion puree and fresh lime juice and the spicy Vietnamese bloody mary, made with ginger, coriander, horseradish, lime and chili paste.

Re: OK - NYC restaurant help
My bachelorette dinner was at DIP the fondue restaurant (3rd and 31st) ... it was terrific! And you can't beat Chocolate & cheese fondue.... um, YUM!!! And the drinks were amazing.
We are holding my friends bachelorette dinner at La Mela in Little Italy. It's a really fun Italian restaurant that has great food and very good at accomodating large groups. There is lots of wine involved... so it's going to be lots of fun. The waiters are great as well.

Re: OK - NYC restaurant help
We went to Lotus for part of my bachelorette party and it was so much fun!
I also like Tao and Butter - great food and great atmosphere for a group! Also, l love Asia De Cuba.
None of these are typical "bachelorette" party places so it depends on what you are looking for.

For Italian food then do La Mela.
It's fun for a bachelorette and the food is tasty & reasonable.

Re: OK - NYC restaurant help
Tony DiNapolis is a good family style Italian restaurant. There is one in time square and one on 2nd avenue. The food & service are very good.
