OK I got this weird response from someone to an ad I placed on Craigslist...

I want to sell DS's bouncy seat and take along swing right? So I post it in the Kids/baby stuff section. I described the product and even posted a picture. So this person e-mails me and says he is very much interested in the car i'm selling????????????? Huh??? So I e-mailed him and told him that I am not selling a car, that the ad is for a baby bouncy seat and he e-mails me again and says that he will send me a certified check in the mail and that once I get the check he'll have movers come and get the car. I haven't given out my address yet??? but ummm hello I told you i'm not selling a car. I just e-mailed this person again and told them I am not selling a car...

So strange...Chat Icon

eta...the best part is that in subject part of the it says RE: Carters Bouncy Seat. So why ask about a car??? He wanted to know if it was in good condition and if I can e-mail a pic.

I thought at first maybe he got the ad mixed up and meant to e-mail someone else about a car for sale. So that's why I told him he had responded to a wrong ad but to then get the second response offering to sent the certified check for a car???

I just don't get it...

Scam. The scambot they are running must not be working right. Chat Icon

We have furniture up on CL and this is a response I got today:
"Hi,
I saw your furnitures and i will like to know your final asking price and the present condition of the item at your
earliest convenience"

It's very vague considering all the info is right in the ad we posted. I'm not responding.

Ok ... thanks!

I am going to stop responding too. I am accepting no checks.

What is the safest way to sell something on Craigslist without knowing if it's a scam. I am not mailing the bouncy seat so if someone is interested in it they would have to come pick it up...
