Ok, I have a different diaper leaking problem

I moved DS up from size 1 pamper swaddlers to size 2 when I ran out of them. He is on the cusp weight wise and I felt like the 1s were getting a little tight. (He is almost 12 lbs and I didn't want to use only a part of the bag) However, his poop is coming up the back and leaking onto his clothing . Did I jump the gun here?

You may have. Try tightening the top more. We had the poop up the back many times in the beginning until I became less shy about how tight I made them.
