OK I have my first case of baby buyer's remorse....
I was registered for the Baby Trend travel system after the results came out from the CR. I know the test was kind of bogus, but I really liked it and I loved the triangle design on the handle. Well, unlike my normal self, my PG self allowed the salesperson to talk me into the Graco the other day. Now I know that everyone loves the Graco, but I am not a fan of how heavy it is & how hard it is for me to hold the infant seat (the handle is weird & I always end up hitting myself in the leg).
So now that my mom has bought it DH loves it but I am still kind of wishing that I bought the Baby Trend one.
Should I bring the Graco back, or maybe let the Graco be for DH & get the BT one for me???
Help

You really don't need two infant seats. If you think you will like the BT one more, then go for it. I have a Graco and it IS heavy and bulky. But, IMHO, they are all heavy and bulky. Especially when you have an 18 lb 4 month old in it

Be happy. Get the one you want because it's not like you're going to all of a sudden start loving the Graco. You'll constantly be cursing yourself.

I'd get what you want. I mean, DH will get over it and it makes you uncomfortable, then get the one you like

Re: OK I have my first case of baby buyer's remorse....
My only fear is that b/c the BT one is lighter (and it was a little harder to steer) that it is not as safe. With the CR tests being crap, I am not sure what to do

Bring the one you don't want. You want to be happy with it.

Re: OK I have my first case of baby buyer's remorse....
who will be using it the most? That is KEY. What about a Graco Metrolite system? I have a Graco Quattro Travel System and I liked it at first and still like the stroller, but it's heavy and bulky.
If you will be the primary user and you will be alone....then get what you feel comfortable with. I was so sick of the infant carrier going in and out of the car VERY QUICK because of how heavy it became once she put weight on and lifting it in and out of the car/truck.

Re: OK I have my first case of baby buyer's remorse....
The pattern my mom got did not have the matching Metrolite.....and it is the infant seat I am not thrilled with. I really wish I could take the BT seat & the Graco base, but they have different latches & are not compatible.

Re: OK I have my first case of baby buyer's remorse....
Oh...another thing....check to see if the government regulates the safety standards on strollers.....(probably). If so, then you can feel assured that despite CR tests, that ANY stroller, no matter price or popularity, has a certain standard to meet.
That's how I feel about certain things....if it meets the governments safety standards, then that's what I need to worry about....not what rating it got in a book or by private testing. Granted, there are certain levels of safety standards and certain products may EXCEED those minimum standards but you can be assured that the stroller you truly want, is safe.

I would get your first choice. You are the one who is going to be carrying it most of the time. You should love the seat you get

Re: OK I have my first case of baby buyer's remorse....
OK so I told DH to go during his lunch & see what he thinks. He said it is not constructed as well & noticed that the padding on the bottom is almost non-existant compared to the Graco. (it actually cuts off at the "diaper line" as he called it). He also said he put them side by side & I am crazy that the Graco is definitely the lighter of the 2 (or better balanced). The final thing he noticed is that b.c it has that dial/growing thingy for the head if he pushed down on it the whole head bit compresses down.
I swear I love that he is a mechanic...he is so analytical in the right way
I am sticking with the Graco.
Thanks all for the advice!
OH ETA: He said if I like the triangle handle better they look like they are connected the same way, he is checking Baby Trend's website to see if he can order it as a replacement part & just put it onto the Graco for me.

Re: OK I have my first case of baby buyer's remorse....
Also- even though the CR test wasn't up to snuff- it DID test those seats in a crash at a higher rate of speed than the gov't requires. So it wasn't necessarily bogus- it just wasn't "fair" to the other seats. The seats that passed that crash test passed at higher speeds than required- which would still makes the Snugride a "safer" seat in my opinion.

The Graco one is SOO heavy and a PITA in my opinion. I say return it and go with your gut!

Re: OK I have my first case of baby buyer's remorse....
Get the one you like. You will use it more and should be comfortable with what you are using. This is how I ended up with 2 strollers...someone bought me a massive, huge one and I simply couldn't use it...it was too big for me. So I bought a much simpler one and loved it. It's all about comfort and ease of use!
