I feel so......

I mean, who pays someone to pick up the dog poop in the yard?

Me. ::sigh:::

But I am using Poop-be-Gone. They have a great reputation and are only $39 a month for my one small dog.

But yeah, I did it.

Once a week. $39 for the month.

So $10 a week to pick up the dog shit is reasonable to me.

I guess it depends on the size of your dog/how many dogs you have but IMO picking up once a week (whether you do it yourself or have someone else do it) is not sufficient. Like I said, the frequency in which your dog(s) go can be a factor but if I only picked up once a week, I would have a yard full of landmines!

Re: Ok. I signed up for poop service

Just a heads up... I had nothing but problems with this company. They did a terrible job when they did show up (just did a quick once over the backyard, leaving a bunch behind) and when I would call to complain their customer service was obnoxious and would tell me I was wrong and that it must be fresh poop. I told them to come back and see for themselves. It was def not fresh poop.

They would also bill me for "rain days". So if it happens to rain on the day they normally come to your home... they skip you that week and you still have to pay them.

The final straw for me was when they tried billing me for 6 weeks in a row when they never showed up. They tried telling me they were there every week (I have a lock on my gate so I know they weren't, cause I would have had to let the guy in). They finally admitted they were wrong and the guy didn't show up but it probably rained every Thursday for 6 weeks in a row and that's why they didn't show up. After proving they were wrong again they stopped trying to bill me.

I've been looking for a new service but haven't found anyone in my area yet. I hope you have a better experience with them Chat Icon

Re: Ok. I signed up for poop service

Can someone explain this to me? Is this for people who just send their dogs out to go and don't stay with them? How does this work? Do you leave the poop and how do they find it all?

We go out with our dogs every single time to pick up after them and make sure they don't get into any trouble. LOL I don't think I could handle a yard full of poop that may get rained on, etc, especially since my child plays out there.

@Secretly (and everyone) I am NOT impressed and cancelling the service after 2 weeks. I have a sensor on the porch that reads when people come in and out of the backyard.

The first week they were here was 3 1/2 min.

The second week was 1 min and 42 seconds. The yard is VERY big 1/4 acre. It should take more than 1 min and 42 seconds to pick up the poop.

Not happy at all. Ill let you know if they give me a hard time.

Re: Ok. I signed up for poop service

Sorry you didn't have a good experience with them either. Your right, it should take more then a couple minutes to go over an entire backyard. If I only pick up the poop once a week, it takes me at least 45 mins to make sure I get it all. This guy would always be done in 5 mins or less.

I was just randomly thinking... the owners must be the ones actually doing the work because if they were paying someone hourly, you would think the person would take their time and do a good job. Which is also probably why when I would call to complain they were so hostile. It's a shame because i think it's a really convenient service and they could do well if they didn't lose all their customers.

Update: So no call, no answer to email, no nothing after 5 days. I have left 2/3 messages and 2 emails. AND they came again today AFTER I fired them. I am now disputing half the charge with the credit card company and cancelling that credit card.

It should not be so hard to cancel this service. And today? 2min and 20 seconds. Obviously I am not paying for todays service.

Wow, that's crazy. I was paying by check so it was easy to not pay them. I wonder if they will respond to you once they see you disputed half the charge.

if they only come once a week and miss lots of poop how do you even know they showed up?

I agree, once a week is not enough waste pick up. My dog use to leave poop everywhere and I picked up everyday. Leaving waste in your yard can cause other problems..IMO

I have a sensor on the porch. I know when someone is in the backyard. So I KNOW when they are there, and for how long.

FYI: Still no call, no nothing from them.
