Ok, I'm IPOD challenged...
Can someone explain to me exactly how you download songs off the computer? Also, is it possible to buy an IPOD and it not be compatible with your computer?... then what do you do about downloading songs?

when you buy the ipod it comes with a CD and you upload itunes into your computer. You can then burn CDs to itunes and import them to your ipod or you can buy songs on itunes for 99 cents each. You have to have Windows XP or better.

Actually you dont' burn the cd to iTunes, you "rip' or "upload" the songs to iTunes. You can burn the songs you've loaded but you need to copy them off the CD onto your computer.
Also - just an FYI - if you buy a song from iTunes, you can only burn six cds from it - unless you break the copyright (which is illegal but not traceable  )

So, if you don't have Windows Xp then you can't do that? Ok, stupid question...do you need a CD burner on your CP in order to burn the CD or can you put it in the regular CD-ROM drive?

You need a CD burner or CD/DVD burner to burn cds.
etd. Also you need Windows XP or 2000 , not just XP
