(Come on, I ask EVERY marking period, and EVERY marking period, I end up doing them myself. Can't a prego catch a break? )

Well, since I'm the music teacher, I just mark them on whether or not I like them I'm TOTALLY KIDDING! I do not mark on a curve. I have a rubric I use.

Not really but then again if a students gets an 89, I will often round it up to a 90. However, if they were lazy, were late with an assignment etc. and their grade averages to an 89, well, it's an 89.
I never give 69 for obvious reasons not even on tests.
We are not allowed to give 61-64 on report cards. It has to be a 60 or 65 to keep parents from coming up and "lobbying" for points. I gwet that a lot anyway because I teach advanced kids.

I am right there with ya!! I am dreading this, and doing their year-end averages and then telling the "at-risk" kids what they need to get on the final in order to pass for the year. that's always a pleasant conversation .
