ok moms of kids turning one- let's talk birthday gifts
I know we have a bunch of April May June babies turning one. I need to start shopping for bday gifts for DD and be prepared to provide ideas to the grandparents, aunt and uncles, etc. so I'm wondering what have you/or are you getting your own child for their first birthday? TIA! Just want to make sure I'm not missing any cool gifts that I haven't seen.

Gianna so far as gotten-She will turn 1 on May 2nd.

DD "big" gifts were
a Kettler Kettrike w/pushbar from DH's parents
a rocking snail from my mom
a wooden pushcart that held a bunch of block from us.
She also got clothes from grandma and grandma and grandpa.
We didn't go overboard though b/c she's a Sept. baby so Christmas was just around the corner.

My parents got Andrew the ride on roller coaster.
I bought him the Sesame Street Birthday Train and every year I will give him another piece.

Since both my babies have early May b-days, not only are they getting a combined party, we are getting them a combined gift! They are getting a swingset/jungle gym for our yard.
In all seriousness, Lauren doesn't need any big toy item, because chances are we have it already from Andrew. My mom always gets them each a place setting from Tiffany's as a keepsake, so we display that on their shelves in their rooms.

We are getting DS a swing set.
some ideas I've given people or picked up myself:
summer clothes
baby pool
sand toys
sand box
ball pit
busy ball popper
table and chairs set
teeter totter
Grandma and Grandpa got him the radio flyer wagon

We get Sarah a Swarovski flower each year. The first year was a yellow rose, the second year pink.
My mom got her a silver plated music box with a personalized messaage from red envelope, but I don't see it there any more.
She got lots of clothes & toys from family members.

Luka didn't get alot of toys and I am glad because he needed cloths. He did get a bead maze which he loves and it keeps him so busy, the bouncing zebra which he really likes but he can't sit on it by himself yet (needs to grow about an inch or two for that), a laugh and learn table but I think I am giong to exchange that for something else because he didn't seem to intrested with it( it had a flip top so you could test it out) and some other ball thing ( I don't remember what it is called) Maybe a ball pit, Onestepahead has one that is tented and I think I am going to get that for the backyard.
