OK moms... this might be a stupid question but...

I decided to get motivated and start washing some of the babys clothes... I did all the onesies..Pajamaa's and bedding(sheets and blankets as well) the only thing that I havent washed is the actual outfits...

Do you really need to wash every one? I just got so much clothes and dont know what he'll even get to wear...

ALSO..

What and when did you pack your hospital bag...and what was in it???

ETA: When should I put in the car seat and get it inspected...where do you go to get this done?

TIA

I only wash his undershirts, socks and blankets before he wears them. I'm glad I didn't wash everything bc he still has suumer clothes that he hasn't worn yet that are too small now. They still have tags so I'll probably exchange them for fall clothes. I did wash his coming home outfit though.

I started packing my hospital bag at 35 weeks.... I was done by 37.

2 PJs (One short pants set and knee length gown)
Robe with zipper and 2 front pockets (great if you BF)
Underwear
slippers
toothbrush/toothpaste (both for me and DH)
Body wash/soap
Maxi pads
Deoderant
lotion
hair tie
curling iron
hair brush/comb
makeup
Going home outfit
snacks for DH
camera
cell phone charger
pillows for me and DH

Although I asked DH to put the carseat base in the carthe week before my due date, he didn't do unil the day the baby and I were coming home. Chat Icon

I washed all the onesies, socks, blankets, towels, and bibs. I didn't wash any outfits because all the ones I got I knew would be too big on him in the beginning.

I packed my hospital bag when I was around 39 weeks, I think. I don't remember everything I packed in there but here's a few things:

1 pkg of "granny" panties (like 6)
1 nursing bra
1 sports bra
nursing pads
2 PJs (never used them)
socks (never used them)
baby magazines
stress pillow (VERY useful!)
a regular pillow
towel (hospital towels are flimsy at best)
shower gel & puff
face wash
deodorant
shampoo & conditioner
hair brush
toothpaste & toothbrush (for me & DH)
makeup bag
maxi pads
contact lens solution & case
cell phone charger
Bath robe (very useful!)
flip flops

Some tips:

I should've packed more hair ties/scrunchies... I somehow lost the one I had during labor and then had to use my butterfly clip which was really annoying.

You don't really need to pack maxis because the hospital give you a TON. But I brought my own because I thought I bought nice thin ones. They turned to be mattresses anyway.

I really didn't pack my going home outfit too well. I was determined to not walk out of there wearing maternity clothes (YEAH RIGHT) and brought just some bigger clothes that I thought for sure would fit. No such luck. I ended up having to wear my maternity pants and a maternity top anyway. I recommend something very comfy and loose fitting.

We did the carseat the week before I was induced so at 40 weeks.

I packed two outfits for the baby - One for the hospital picture and for going home. I also packed a receiving blanket and regular blanket. I bought a few diapers, but the hospital gave me a pack to go home with.
