ok Moms, what do you think are the most popular?
What do you think are the most popular baby names for boys and girls lately?
Some of these "new" names I love  and for some, I feel like I hear the same name called out in the mall over and over by 10 different Moms. It's like Jennifer and Michael from the 80's all over again  !
But seriously for fun, what do you think are the most popular names today?
I think that for girls it names with Mc in the front like McKenzie etc. and for boys traditional Jewish names like Joshua etc. (which I love BTW  )

I wanted to name my son Aiden but then I heard 3 other people I knew this year all picked that name so it must be "in" this year or something. I have also heard a lot of Isabella's (Bella) this past year too. I LOVE both names but I have heard them a lot this year so I guess I would say those are popular!
Oh also Jake! (Love that one too!)

We named our DD Rachel, but now DW is concerned that with Rachael Ray's overnight popularity explosion, it may be a very common name soon...

That's what stinks about some names. They are so pretty and not really common...and then one famous person later and everyone uses it. Rachel is a really pretty name though.

For boys, I think Connor and Aiden are popular.
We named our son Bryan. While in the store I heard a mom say "Brian come here" and last week at the dr.s office a woman asks me "oh whats his name?" I said "Bryan" and she goes "Aww this is Brian too"...Guess thats getting popular as well.

I guess Brian is making a come back. I remember there were a lot of boys with that name when I was in elementary school in the 80's, it kind of went a long with Michael. But I haven't heard that many boys at all with that name as of yet.

I work in day care and the popular names have been:
Girls: Emily, Emma, Olivia, Gianna
Boys: Matthew, Michael, Daniel, Joseph, Thomas, James
Funny how the boys names are all classic names.
I hardly ever heard the name Jaidyn and of course since I had her I keep hearing oh I know someone who named their son Jaden

Emma is #1 girl name right now, as per SS records. Aidan is #1 boy name, I think. Olivia, Hannah, Ava are all very very popular also.
Anything funky that starts with a K or a C and has a Y or an H in it is super popular too. Like, Kayla, Cyara, McKayhla etc.
Another name that is gaining popularity is Molly. I knwo a few people who had a girl in the past few months and named her Mollie/Molly.
All the 2-4 year olds I see on the play grounds are Emilys.

Girls: Isabella (if I had had a girl, that would've been her name), Madison (another one I love!), McKayla, Ava

I know a ton of little boys named Jack and Aidan.
For girls I've been hearing Ava, Bella and Olivia alot.
These were actually on our list but growing up as a Jennifer in the 80's, I just had to fo w/something a little less popular!!!

My sons name is Aidan, and I had never heard of this name 8 years ago when he was born...now, I hear it all the time. My daughter's name is Kailey, and I hear that name often now too, but the name is always spelt different ways!
Some of the names I hear often are, Michael, Emily, Abby

Peytons and Addisons are big down here in NC.
I went with a Jewish name, I am Irish, DH is PR..everyone questioned my reasoning..just loved the way Joshua sounded. (even though we chickened out of naming him Cash, this kid could have totally pulled it off)

Really the only babies I know are the ones on here, and you know what I realized? VERY few are repeated!!! With all the babies on here and all the so-called popular names you would think there would be like 4 or 5 of one name, and I really don't think there is. Just an observation!
