Ok Odd question, Mommas with Eczema.. (and/or medical pros)
If you use a topical steroid to treat, how to you handle your children?
I keep meaning to call the doc but I'm so danged busy. I haven't called AT&T in over two months and they've been double billing me so you get that my life is low on priority.
But in the meantime, I haven't even FILLED that Rx cause I'm worried if I do (its on my hands) that I won't be able to touch AJ.
Any one use topical steroids on their hands?
Oddly enough, the dry cold and stress levels trigger it. So I've been forcing myself to drink a cup of green tea and chill daily. HAHA to keep holding my kiddo.

I have it on my hands too and have the steroid cream. They always want to give me the ointment but I request the cream because I think it doesn't wipe off as easily (and it doesn't ruin my clothes). This time around the also gave me some kind of Rx foam moisturize that I use everytime after I wash my hands that works really well. To avoid the steroid cream wiping off on my baby, I leave it by the front door in the am and put it on after I put my DD's coat and my coat on. I put the cream on grab my DD and put her in the car. I apply the second dose of the cream right before I go to bed (after she is all ready asleep for the night). I only need to use the steroid cream twice a day. Within 2 weeks or so my excema is usually completely gone.

I have sold RX Steroids. You can use it on yourself and touch DC. It will not harm them in any way.

I get flare-ups on my hands. I put the ointment on and continue to handle my kids as usual. It's never been a problem

I would def slather it on at night and put gloves on. During the day I highly recommend CeraVe cream (in the tub). Worked awesome on DS's eczema.
