ok opinions please
ok so i have had a horrible morning and need you ladies to tell me, if what i am asking for is to much ( sorry this is going to be kinda long)
In Feb, i was in a car accident. I work for an insurance company so we took the car to one our our shops to get fixed. There customer service was great. It took them 3 days longer to fix then expected, but the picked up the extra rental. Which was great.
So we get the car back and we think everything is great. Well a few months pass and i tell Dh that something doesn't feel right. So he takes it to work and notices, a bolt for that hold the tire on isn't tighten and that what is making my car shift and pull to the right. ( i have a Honda and dh is a machinec for Honda). Dh said lucky we caught it the tire COULD have fallen off, but he its unlikely. So my boss calls the owner of the shop and tells him, he feels horrible and gives me a $200 gc to a spa and a huge fruit/snack basket with a really nice apology letter.
So that was a few months ago. I am driving my car today and my car makes this HUGE noise and i can barely drive it. I call DH and he cant come get me since we live in NJ and he works in PA. He says call my parents they will come get you and that is coworker is off today, he will call him and have him look at it to give DH an idea of whats wrong.
SOO are you ready for this, THE STUPID ASSHOLES THAT FIXED MY CAR, NEVER PUT THE MOTOR MOUNTS IN RIGHT, AND THEY BROKE AND MY WHOLE ENGINE IS NOW SITTING ON THE SUB FRAME OF THE CAR. I am SOOOOOO ****** off.
So now i know dh should have prob looked over the car better when we got it back, but we trusted them to fix it correctly.
My car was then towed to the placed that fixed it the 1st time. I call my boss and told him what happened again. He has a call into the owner of the body shop.
Well my thing now is... I dont want this car anymore. They ****** it up the 1st time, now what kind of trust do i have in them to fix it again this time. But the thing is the car is leased. and the lease isnt up yet for another 18 months.
Is it too much to ask or demand for them to buy us out of the lease and put us back into another 07 Honda CRV with the same exact payments we are at now.

I don't think they'd buy you out of your lease, but that being said, i would demand that they pick up any penalty charges that might come up when your lease is up.

Re: ok opinions please
I am sorry you had so many problems with your car. I can't believe they would do such a sh!tty job on your car considering you work for an insurance company that sends them business. I hope this gives your boss reason to reconsider that relationship.
You are in a better position then most because of your job so you or your boss might be able to negotiate something acceptable but I don't think it's remotely possible that you will get the type of compensation you described.
But I wouldn't want them to work on the car again either. Can you bring the car to one of the other shops to fix and have the first shop pay for it? I think they should also pay for a rental car and maybe a car payment since you didn't have your car for so long.
Good luck!

WOW!! I wouldnt want to deal with that car or garage anymore.
It is important that you have a safe car. They obvisouly are not doing a proper job. I would try for the new car, if they don't agree, I would tell them you want the car looked over by a different shop after the work is completed and they are to take the charges for that.

Re: ok opinions please
I would have it fixed and then take it to another shop to make sure the job was done right. If something turns out wrong present the original mechanics with the issue and have them pay for another mechanic to fix it along with any penalty charges you may incur if your leasing company has issues.
I doubt they will buy out your lease so get it fixed properly and turn it in asap.
Good luck.

I don't think they should buy you out of your lease. However, they should pay to fix it at a HONDA dealer or someone of your choosing.
