Ok seriously, am I doing something wrong? UPDATE

I am on CD17 and just started my second OPK box and I still haven't gotten my smiley I am limitting my liquid intake, holding for 4 hours and taking the test at the same time each day. I came off bcp in Oct and my cycles were
Oct-Nov 29 days
Nov-Dec 28 days
Dec-Jan 36 days.
I am getting a little nervous that I may not be ovulating. Do you think that could be the case?
DH and I are still BDing every other day, but I am starting to feel like it is all for nothing

Update: Thanks ladies for all your input. I learn something every day from you. I am guessing I am probably going to have a longer cycle being off bcp. I will continue testing throughout the week at 6:30 like I usually do and hopefully my smiley comes soon. I am now on CD18, so if I am O'ing late it should come soon. I just hate another week of having to hold my pee for 4 hours!

Believe me, I am no expert, but if your last cycle was 36 days, maybe you just haven't "O"ed yet. I have a 32 day cycle and my doctor told me I would proabably "O" on day 20.

Interesting. I would have thought one would O somewhere around CD14-17, but I guess it is possible to O in the 20's. It just seems so late, but I guess that is the way I am heading. Thanks! That helps me feel better

Yes, your LP (Luteal Phase) is always the same. It's the number of days from O to your period. So on your 32 day cycle I would bet you ovulated later than the 28 day cycle. KWIM?

I've been in your shoes first 3 months off the pill, i was 31, 29, 28 days. then june came and it was 45 days

I have peaked according to CBEFM as late as days 20 and 21 giving me cycles of 34-36 days sometimes. so its totally possible.

the littlest thing can throw it off..stress, increase in excersing, medications, etc.

i would keep testing.
i know those kits arent cheap

Nope! I'm on cd18 and still nothing. I have had some cycles where I ovluate late which end up being long cycles (40+ days). I'm just keeping my fingers crossed I actually ovulate after getting off the BCP

i had two random months in a row where i had 35 day cycles and during those i got my surge around cd22 so you totally may still get it, hang in there!

You might just O late-especially if you have longer cycles. What time are you testing? The later the better, I personally find, but everyone is different.

What day do you begin testing? I know I have had a 27-28 day cycle and I O'd on CD12. I have also O'd as early as CD8-10, but the cycles were 23-24 days long.

The OPK's never worked for me, so I switched to the CBEFM, you also get a few high days before your peak, so you can kinda anticipate!
