Ok seriously.. MIL vent about baby
Arianna is 7 F-ing weeks old! NEARLY TWO MONTHS OLD!!!!
You just THINK my MIL would call and see how she's doing????????
She came to visit with her hubby and my BIL in the hospital.. unannounced but welcome (of course) We were supposed to go out that weekend for my birthday lunch..... they didnt even hide the fact that they were going out that night for dinner without me (no biggie right?)
But 7 weeks and no call, no 'hey how's my ONLY grandchild?'
Whats up with that??!?!?!?
We sent photos last week cause I figured SOMEONE may care.. not even an acknowledgement of those!
Now we've been married 5 years and she's always been 'nice' and 'civil' but this is seriously ticking me off..
Tell me its cultural. Like why she didnt do a baby shower, bridal shower, etc (ever!)
*VENT*

She's in brooklyn and has never called to see if she can visit or come by or called about Arianna....

My father's in IOWA and he calls everyday to hear my daughter's gurgles! and this is his SECOND grandchild..
Am I nuts to be a lil upset?

You are certainly NOT nuts. I would be as angry/frustrated/hurt as you are. I would probably just stop with the pictures and let her come to you. And when she does, if it's important enough, tell her how great it is that she's there to see DD and how important you think it is for them to have a good relationship since she lives so close by. Maybe that will be the kick in the arse she obviously needs.

you know the sad part??
I really WANT my daughter to get to know and love Jim's Mom
My mother is out of the question and I am still fighting my father and whether my daughter should call my stepmother Ruth or grandma.
Jim's mom is really her only grandma and I REALLY wanted them to bond

I would feel upset too about your MIL.
I just want to say about your Stepmother that you could have an affectionate name besides Grandma.
I have a stepmom, a godmother, a mIL and a mom. They all have a different name so DS will not get confused and still have an affectiocate name that they can share and bond with. I think it is important for the child. We use Nanny, Oma, Gramdma and Nana.
Non-blood relatives can sometimes be more loving and caring then blood relatives and as long as your DC gets that love it doesn't matter who it is from.

how about '#%tch'? I thought calling her Ruth was nice enough but my father's against it. *shrug*
My preference is to just call her 'that woman' but I dont think that's gonna fly either

I'm a hormonal pregnant woman...so here is my answer...
F her.
If she doesn't want to be a part of her grandchild's life..so be it.
Sorry I'm so blunt but I'm 9 months preggo.
