Ok, sorry-- Another Nikon question
Which do you have out of these two, and why did you choose the one you have over the other. I'm having a hard time figuring out which I want, I want the one that will work best for me and have it narrowed down to these two.
I tried to do a little searching, and on Kenrockwell.com (he seems so knowledgeable), he said the following:
I'm not that excited about the D40x, because is loses some of the things I love about my D40: it costs $200 more and has a much slower sync speed. I don't care about resolution.
For now, I'd pass on the D40x and get a D40 instead. They are the same camera, and the D40x costs much more for no significant change in quality or performance.
2.) Slower default ISO: only ISO 100 compared to D40's ISO 200. This can lead to images blurred from subject or camera motion or reduced depth of field. The higher-speed sensor of the D40 allows the excellent results at ISO 200 while the less sensitive sensor of the D40x requires ISO100 for the same thing.
He says the big difference is the megapixels, but will that really make a huge differnece in my pics if I don't blow them up larger than 8x10 or so?
Sorry to drive you guys nuts, I just want the best camera for us and to take pics of my DD!!
Thank you!

I have the D40 and absolutely love it!!
I agree with you - I don't think the megapixels difference is huge unless you do a lot of enlarging.

I have the D40. I just couldn't afford the D40x...that's why I got the D40.

I got the d40x. The guy at Cameta told me that the megapixels will make a difference if you crop it and then want to blow up the picture.

Re: Ok, sorry-- Another Nikon question
I have the D40x.
I had the same problem choosing. I ended up choosing the d40x. I think the megapixel is important. I cropped a bunch of photos and blew them. I did not want to lose on the resolution.
Here is a link resuming the D40x and the difference with the D40 (down the page).
I went from a digital camera to a VERY expensive camera. I did not want to be limited down the road after paying so much. The D80 was out of my range.
