OK then... let's talk about bed rails!

Like a "tall" one.

Any recommendations? Easiness to use, quality, etc...

TIA

Good post Sophie!

Can I add a question too (and I'm sorry if this is a really dumb question, I honestly have no idea Chat Icon )

Do you put one on both sides of the bed even if one side of the bed is against the wall? I'm thinking YES, you need it there too b/c there's a gap between the mattress and the wall...right??

you do not need both, I do not have any on miki's bed but if one side is against the wall, even with a small space between the bed and the wall, you do not need a rail on that side, although you can use one if you want to Chat Icon

I would think so!

DS' crib becomes a day bed so I would only need 1.

But in your case I would think so. The space is big. You have the bed then the matress space. Is that a twin/full size bed?

yes, you do....I researched that question when I was looking into bedrails. You should also look for one that has "no gapping" technology. This is the one I ended up buying after extensive research.http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=15036141

ETA: due to the design of Eddies beds design, there is a good 6-8 in gap between his bed and the wall.

They sell a double railExternal Image

We only used one with DD#1 but I guess it couldn't hurt.

No no... it's about bed rails. So let's all get our answers!Chat Icon

I think the gab with the bed frame and the mattress will be too big. I would get a double bed rail too.

Re: OK then... let's talk about bed rails!

DS is in a twin bed. I have the bed up against the wall.
Had one bedrail. This past weekend, his "bunny" fell between gap of the wall and the bed. ( I had the mattress up against the wall..he must have moved around a lot..) Mattress slipped and I walk in the room to DS saying "Hi Mommy"...All I see is the top half of his body..Don't know how he did it, but, his legs were wedged between the wall and bed.

I do have another bed rail now.

Re: OK then... let's talk about bed rails!

I have to say we were late to move DD(she just turned 3) but its never been an issue. She hasn't fallen out of bed yet!

Another suggestion- my SIL told me they used those noddle floats on each side of the bed for the infirm people she helped at a home. They work great- we tried it on vacation when DD was only 18 months old

DS's bed is against the wall but there is still space...we got the double bed rails...the ones the fold under the mattress when you don't want them up. We keep the one against the wall up and the outside one down when he's not in the crib...so his bedding can look nice Chat Icon
