OK, they are passing around PHONE snow chains in the office today....
Is it going to be THAT bad tomorrow morning?

It took me a minute to figure out you meant PHONE snow chains. I kept thinking "What office hands out tire chains?? And those are for ICE, not snow..."

ok, I've checked the forecast numerous times and it basically says wintery mix (ie rain/snow).
So what's all the fuss about????

This is what I've heard... But then earlier this morning I was listening to WBAB and Roger said we were possibly getting 2-4 inches.

“ . . . Winter Storm Watch in effect from Friday morning through Friday evening . . .
The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a Winter Storm Watch . . . which is in effect from Friday morning through Friday evening.
Snow is expected to overspread the region Friday morning . . . and could become heavy at times in the afternoon. The snow may mix with sleet and rain in the afternoon . . . especially along the South Shore of Long Island. There is the potential for snowfall accumulation of 6 or more inches.
A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant snow . . . sleet . . . or ice accumulations that may impact travel.”

Most likely you "might" leave early tomorrow afternoon but that's about it.
Don't hold your breath too much on that one. Now snow for next Wednesday as a blizzard would be good. DH would stay home right before Christmas Day.
