Okay long term WW'ers... I need help!

If I count another point, I may punch someone.

I do this every time. I'm successful for a while, I stay op, really good, and then the points get to me! I just want to eat and not write it down!

Now, I'm aware that I need to, and that it's the only way I'll be successful, but my brain is losing out on this battle.

Any suggestions on how to get myself focused again? I do well during the day, but then as soon as I get home I start eating everything in sight!

Thanks!

I kind of do it reversed. I plan out what I will eat for the day and figure out the points I'll use throughout the day in the morning. I write it down and keep it with me. Then just stick to what I planned.

It's easier for me. I can't be bothered writing something down everytime I put something in my mouth.

Re: Okay long term WW'ers... I need help!

I will probably be no help since I haven't been counting points since I hit goal in November Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

That's not true - I did it for the first time yesterday and I am hoping for two days in a row Chat Icon

Anyway I find I have the same problem - great during the day and snack all night. So I have come up with a solution and so far it has worked! I found that I was eating too many points during the day which left me little for dinner and my evening snack at night. So since I forbade myself to snack, what did I do? Of course I just snacked even more Chat Icon

Instead I am trying to eat less points throughout the day and leave more for night. I found that my day time snacks (protein bars and creamer for coffee) where consuming WAY too many of my points.

So now I have enough points for dinner AND a snack so I don't have to feel guilty or forbid myself from eating something, eating it anyway and then feeling like crud.

I don't know if this helps at all. Bottom line is though journaling is key. I am determined to keep this part of it up!

With the momentum plan, you don't HAVE to track. You should, but you don't have to. Some people just can't stick with it for the long-term. There is another technique called teh Simply Filling technique. You eat all "filling foods." Then the foods that you eat that are not filling foods, you count them towards your 35 weekly points. So you are really only tracking your 35 pts. You should, of course, still measure out your food.

I know it is so hard and something I struggle with myself. I am trying to accept the fact that this is just something I have do and the only way for me to stay OP. Different people are dealt different cards in life and this is one of the cards I was dealt.

Sometimes to get re-focused I read my WW materials over again. I actually just did that on Monday. I sat down and read all new momentums weekly booklets. Each time I usually pick up something different.

they just came out with a portable tracker thing where you just hit a button everytime you eat a point. I cant remember the exact name of it but they recomend it for people who hate tracking. Let me look on their website to see if I can find it

i cant find it on their site but I know its available at a location

I try to do the same thing. It's easier if I know ahead of time what I'm going to have for the day and then if I have room for a treat or not.

This is exactly what I was thinking of when I read this post. I've seen it at my meetings and it seems like a great idea.

It's called the "points clicker" and it's great if you plan out your meals and know the points of things. This way you don't have to track, per se, but you are still in control and know where you stand as far as your points go. I have one and I like it...but I track, so it's a little redundant.

Thanks for the suggestions, ladies!

I may look into that clicker. I think part of my problem was that AF was on her way, and thus needing to eat everything in my path. Hopefully i'll be able to get back on track now.

I need to learn to control myself in the days before though. I can't do this every month!

i found i do best with a low point bfast, get a little higher at lunch and then leave the most for night. but yeah, tracking can get annoying. i asked someone at WW (an employee) how they keep the weight off since i can't imagine counting for the rest of my life. the person i spoke to said they take a break from it on the weekend. not that she pigs out, she still eats sensibly and stuff, but won't sit there writing everything down or counting in her head.

I don't really count points any more. At this point I'm in such a routine that I know about how much I eat each day.

For example, I know that my breakfasts are 1-3 points, lunches are 4-6 points, and dinner is around 8 points. My snacks during the day are fruits or vegetables, so the points used are minimal.
