Okay! Post your desktop computers . . .
and why you love them.
Customer service. . . Affordability . . . Customizations . . . Use-ability (is that a word?) . . . Digital pictures, games, Speed All that good stuff.
DH and I are in the market for a desktop. I had a Dell laptop that my Mom is taking. I hate their customer service. However, I don't know if it's different anywhere else.
Feedback, thoughts?
I did a search - but I got a load of stuff that I wasn't looking for.
TIA

DH and I both have Compaq Presario PC's. I have always had Compaq desktop computers and never had any problems! it's a great value (I think I paid $450 for it last year) and it has more of everything than I need.

Re: Okay! Post your desktop computers . . .
a computer is a computer.
personally, i would get a dell cause they are selling cheapier to catch up to hp/compaq who is number 1.
after you receive it, i would remove all the extra stuff that comes with the pc (reinstall windows)
and then your done.
the question is....what are your common uses with the computer and how much "would" you like to spend.
I have many dells, but never need to call customer service because i know of computers but then again, proper use of pc's (exception of system faliures which can happen to any pc) you shouldn't need to call them.

We have a Dell at home. Never had any major problems with it so I never called customer service. We've had it for about 3 years and love it. But soon we are getting a laptop which I think will also be a Dell.

I had mine custom built. I ordered all of the parts & my co-worker put it together for me but at work we usually order Acer Computers - I work in the I.T. Dept.

Re: Okay! Post your desktop computers . . .
DH has a custom built tower with an insane Dell screen. It works as a TV, too. I have a Sony Vaio tower with a Dell screen. My Dell screen is a lot smaller than DH's but it's still big....and of course its a tv, too.
This was my second Sony Vaio and the second screen that died on me. When Sony Vaio screens have an issue you can't just get a new part...you have to send it to pasture. That is why I have a Dell screen now and sao far so good.

Mac Mac Mac Mac Mac Mac Mac
But if you must have a PC, i would go with a Gateway. They're all the same, but I found Gateway easier to upgrade and with better customer service than Dell (We have one of each)

I have the BEST customer service on my PC. Of course, I built it myself.
