V-Day - we made cards for seniors in a nursing home. We will also make cards for our families and make mailboxes for our V-Day cards and treats. No big party- I will let them hand out their stuff and probably make them cupcakes or something.

100th day- they are wearing something with 100 on it to school - shirt with 100 of something, or necklace with 100 cheerios or fruit loops, and bringing in a collection of 100 items.

So far nothing planned for all the other holidays. I will touch on dental health but not sure about the others.

I teach MS French so here it goes...

Valentine's Day:
We're making Valentine's Day cards in French.

Black History Month:
We're studying French speaking Sénégal and are bringing in the various foods made there.

Valentine's Day: Kids exchange Valentines, we have a snack in class. We also send home black construction paper hearts for parents to write things they love about their child. We display these. We also have each child write one anonymous thing about each child in the class. I then type them and then each student has 19 compliments. We display these as well (The kids LOVE these!)

100th Day: PTO provides snack and pencils, we list 100 Favorite Literary Characters, one year we had a read-a-thon to read 100 books (this takes pre-planning)

Chinese New Year: We make good luck fortunes for the New Year. We snack on fortune cookies,egg rolls, have Red Envlopes w chocolate money, tangerines, read picture books related to the holiday.

Black History Month: in the past, Ive done biographies this month. Not sure this year....also, feature African American poets/ authors in Reading/Writing Workshop.
