ok..im having a little problem..need your help
ok..my dd is 4 months old and we havent had her christened yet..well i want to make it small..just grandparents, aunts, uncles,& great grandparents.the thing is i want to have it at my house because of lack of $$$ but my problem is that if i do it at our house, everyone is in close quarters and if there is alcohol involved it gets weird..i hate having 2 families together.and of course its my family that is the problem...i thought if i had it at a restaurant people would be on their best behavior. but dh thinks it would be too much $$ ..i dont want to eliminate the beer for the people that can handle it..does anyone have suggestions?thanks so much

if folks are there for a christening, it would still get out of control? I hate to be mean, but you have to have both sides of the family there. Why not have a dry party or just champagne at your house. It would be the cheapest route

I agree w/ the others, either find an inexpensive resturant option or have it be dry for everyone. You really do need to have both sides of the family there. There is no need to have alcohol available for every function, and it is a small party...and a christening. If it were me, I would go w/ the dry party. The people who want beer can have it when they go home. Good luck!

YOu can try to rent a small room at a hotel and see about bringing in your own food-- so you can do bagels, etc., and bring your own drinks. The food/drink is stuff you will bring in, and it's not that expensive and there will be a room rental fee-- but you can probably do it all for $1000.
What about also doing it at either your parent's or IL's?

Definitely a better solution. People tend to drink less in the am anyway which would bring the bar tab down.
