I won't recommend where I went last week! Spent almost $300 for my hair to look pretty much the same as when I walked in! Not sure the girl knew how to do it! So I would def try and find someone with experience in Ombre and not just walk in a salon like me

This is the only pic I ever saw that I liked the ombre:
What is the difference, in look, when comparing someone with grow-out from coloring and someone with ombre coloring? In my opinion, hair color that has just grown out and needs to be redone has a true line of demarcation where the natural hair stops and the colored hair begins. In an ombre look, the color is more seamless fading and transitioning from darker to lighter. The colors blend more than they would if you just let your hair grow out naturally. Highlights are strategically placed so that they colors intermix and create something less dramatic and more natural and organic.
ETA: I also always love jessica beil's ombre

I have ombre right now but need to get it redone. I went to B&B in the city but can't justify paying so much again. Prior to B&B I went to a salon in Franklin Sq that not only destroyed my hair, it was absolutely hideous- harsh and fire orange! So now, I'm so weary of who I should trust. I checked out Bangz FB page and it seems like everyone there is so GOOD but no pics of their ombre.
Here are pictures of mine from B&B. I wasn't entirely happy with it because I wish it went higher up but I didn't tell the colorist that so I guess thats my fault! These pics are from March-April but I got it done in October. I think now I want something softly highlighted at the root and blends into heavy ombre.

I went to Di Rosa salon. I know that they are a great salon as a bunch of my friends leave there happy but I had a really bad experience. I left with very brassy orange hair. And after I went back, I left with even brassier hair. I got to the point where I didn't even bother going a 3rd time and just went to Bumble and Bumble in the city. Where do you go in Franklin Sq? When I was younger I went to Palace for traditional highlights. I've always had a great experience with Rosio but the reviews at that salon are terrible!

Ive been driving back to queens to get my hair done bc i cant find a place that doesnt get horrible reviews online, or is highly recommended by a friend. Drives me crazy to make the 30 minute trip....but ive been doing it.
