OMG It's OFFICIALLY booked!
DH and I booked our FIRST trip to Europe. Neither of us have ever been and since officially booking I cannot stop smiling...165 days until we fly into Venice, sail around Croatia and the Greek Isles and return for a couple of days lounging in Venice.....AHHH!
Any tips????

Congrats!! You are going to have an amazing time!! I  Venice!!!!
ETA: Venice is a great place to explore. You will get lost but that's part of the fun. You'll find yourself in the most amazing little squares as you walk around. Just look for signs to point you to the nearest landmarks to find your way back. If you have time, take the trip to Burano (another island about 45 minutes away from Venice) - it is amazing. Murano is also nice and a little closer but Burano is my favorite! Enjoy!

Loved Venice!! Like someone else said... walk all over and get lost. You never really can get that lost and you can get a map from a hotel. You HAVE to do a gondolu (sp) ride. I know it's pricey, but you can bargain with some guys. We had a great guy that was so much fun, sang and gave us a great tour with a lot of facts on the city.
Get some pizza
shop (I actually got some fake stuff from the guys selling on the street. You can bargain with them...  )
sit at a cafe for some coffee and cakes
Have fun!

i've heard croatia is beautiful--i'll get there 1 day!
venice is awesome! it reminds me of disney in a way---i guess b/c there are no cars, etc....it doesn't seem real!
go shopping, take a gondola ride, st. marks square and the bell tower, see the bridge of sighs,
buy a painting from a local artist.....hang out by the rialto bridge at night, walk all over, if i think of n e thing else-i'll post it is truly amazing u will love it!!!
oh & have gelato--lots & lots
it's easy to get lost there!

Congratulations...thats going to be a great vacation...Greece is next on my list of places to see 
We are heading to Italy in June for a little over 2 weeks...I've found tripadvisor to be a great information source - especially the forums.
