OMG...i need help..
im so nervous..i took a quilting class recently and made my SIL a quilt for her baby..so now my dh told this woman at work that i know how to make quilts...so she wants one for her grandson on the way..what do i do? i only made 2..i like the way they came out..but what would i charge this woman..especially for being new at it..the materials would be around $45 ..what is a good price..its a lap size quilt...also what questions do i ask her?im so nervous..what if they dont like it thanks for your help

Don't sell yourself short - be sure to charge a fair price. Aim high and you can always drop the price if you like. Also, if you're not sure you want to take on the job you can aim high so it's really worth your while.
Years ago I'd heard 5x the material cost as one way of figuring it. I'd also take a look at the time it will take, and figure a price for your time. If it's a 10 hour job and you want $20 an hour, plus the materials, you might want to say $250 or $275. Maybe higher because there is always the chance you've underestimated on your time.
