On a Forced Break Due to Ovarian Cysts
Well, I just got back from the RE's office for my CD3 visit. I was hoping to start another round of Follistim only to find out that I have cysts on my right ovary caused by the Follistim from this past cycle. So, no medication for me this month. Supposedly these cysts will go away on their own within a month and I can still do a natural IUI if I want to this month. Has anyone gone through this and if so how long did it take for the cysts to go away?

Re: On a Forced Break Due to Ovarian Cysts
Hey, I did have a cyst due to Gonal-F, but it was small enough so they let me continue. Though I'm not so sure it was the right thing to do. It will go away b/f next month. But, dont' let it stop you. My friend had to call off her IVF cycle because of that and she go PG on her own naturally. It's all so frustrating though, I agree.

Re: On a Forced Break Due to Ovarian Cysts
That happened to me the first time I used follistim and ganerelix. I was bummed about taking a month off, but the dr. assured me it wasn't a big deal. The following month they were gone and I just did my 2nd IUI with meds last week.
To be honest, it was nice not having to go to the doctor and have bloodwork and shots for a month and I was ready to try again the next month.
Good luck!

Re: On a Forced Break Due to Ovarian Cysts
When I was supposed to start my IVF cycle I ended up with a HUGE cyst (and I hadn't even been on meds!). I was put on BCP's for 4 weeks and it went away with no issues. It really stinks to get delayed, I'm so sorry

Well at least enjoy your month without feeling like a lab rat. Running in for monitoring etc....

Re: On a Forced Break Due to Ovarian Cysts
Thanks for your support ladies. I am kind of looking forward to not having to go for monitoring this month. I have been going for fertility treatments for 4 months and I guess my body is telling me now is a good time for a break.

Re: On a Forced Break Due to Ovarian Cysts
I got a 36 mm cyst from clomid last month and am also on an RE break. My RE was unsure that I would even ovulate so he would not even agree to do a natural IUI which I wanted to try. I went for an u.s on CD12 and my cyst was down to 16mm. I am also kind of enjoying the break. I am now in the 2ww and praying I don't have to go back

I've just come off of a forced break myself, and I have to say it's been so nice not having to go to the RE every few days, not taking any meds (other than my BCP), no OPKs. We felt like a normal couple for a change. It was so nice not living my life in 2 week intervals. I'm totally less stressed now, and it was great mental preparation for this IVF cycle.

Re: On a Forced Break Due to Ovarian Cysts
I wound up with a cyst from Clomid a few months ago. The cyst went away on it's own before I ovulated and I did a natural IUI that cycle.
