on a more serious note....last dh noticed so small lumps on the either side of Luce's lower skull/back of his head

we were out at dinner with the family and he was just feeling around. my uncles' wife is a nurse and she felt around and said it was most likely lymph nodes and to watch him b/c it could be signs of an infection.

he doesn't have a fever...but he's teething.

this morning i noticed a smaller but similarly situated lump on the other side (right side).

so now he has what are most likely enlarged lymph nodes on either side of his head.

she told me to wait a few days to see if they go back down and if they don't to call the ped (his 9 month appt is towards the end of the month)

he doesn't have a fever, but he IS teehthing something awful.

has anyone ever noticed this with teething?

I am trying to take her advice and remain calm...but of course my brain runs to the worst case scenarios.

I am NOT googling...I just will go berzerker if I do...so I am posting here. not even sure why really. I am just Chat Icon about it.

No worries...Michael had one on his left side...they go away or just grow with them. Nothing serious at all!

both my boys had them. They are either lymph nodes which got inflamed when he was sick (sometimes they dont go back down) or I've heard it could be little bones from his head shaping.

DS has had these behind one of his ears forever. They never go away.

Every time I take him to the ped, she tells me not to worry. She would be more concerned if they kept getting bigger.

It's totally fine. I get them, Ava gets them, JT gets them...sometimes there's no rhyme or reason to them. One time mine got so big they were the size of golf balls and hurt SO BAD from pulling the skin on my scalp, and my anxiety kicked into overdrive, so I had JT take me to the ER (it was late at night), only to find out it was just my bodies reaction to dealing with seasonal allergies and there was nothing that could be done about it, nor was there anything to worry about. My good friends DS ( now age 6) has gotten these intermittently pretty much his whole life...At one point they were like golf balls she saidChat Icon

The ped is not concerned about them, I can't remember at the moment what they attributed it to but when I speak to her I can find out Chat Icon

DD had (and sometimes) still has them! They are pretty big too. I had asked about them at her 6 month apt and DR felt them and confirmed they were lymph nodes. Now at 9 months I do feel them much less... They were very firm and felt like a marble. Scared the S*&(^T of of me too but all was good Chat Icon

CJ had this too. It scared the s h i t out of me at first. Its just his nymph nodes inflamed either from being sick OR allergies. It'll go away on its own in a few weeks.
