Once you suspected there was a problem, how long did you wait to see the doctor about it?
Hi all. I hope it's alright that I'm posting here...
Though DH and I are still fairly early in the TTC process, all signs now and pre-BCP point to PCOS. I'm just curious how long you all waited before going back to the doctor once you suspected something was wrong?

I never waited. But I;m still waiting for a healthy pregnancy. If I were you I would get to a Dr ASAP

If I were you I wouldn't wait, go and see your Dr maybe get a referral if you need one or go straight to an RE. How old are you and how long have you been trying?

did your doctor ever mention to you that you may have a problem ttc? i would voice your concerns to your OB now. For my dr after 6 months of ttc they start the invasive testing first.

If you have concerns and aren't getting a regular period, I would go to the Dr. right away.

I went to the doctor, even before TTCing. I was very lucky in the fact that I had a major symptom that prompted a doctor trip. This gave me a running start to hit my infertility head on. Granted, everyone is different due to age and other factors. But if you suspect something, go with your gut! What's the worst that can happen if they just check you out?

Re: Once you suspected there was a problem, how long did you wait to see the doctor about it?
We're only on our 2nd ttc cycle (though our third month) but for the 8 years I had AF before BCP I was incredibly irregular and unfortunately that doesn't seem to have changed 9 years later off of it. My sister had similar AF's and did need to go on Clomid to get pregnant but they wouldn't see her until 1 full year of trying so I wasn't sure if it was even a possibility for me to go back to the doctor so quickly.
I'm CD 31 today. If i don't see o' signs by CD 46, giving me a 60+ day cycle, I'm going to make the appointment. Thank you ladies for giving me the chutzpah to do it!
Each and every one of you are in my thoughts

I waited TOO LONG. Don't wait...if you're TTC for 6 months with nothing, I would DEFINITELY go to an RE. If you have PCOS, I'd go now!
Good luck!

Just an FYI-if you are O'ing that late in your cycle-chances are 99% of those eggs will not be of good quality. there is a certain window for egg quality in your cycle and i would say it ends around CD 21 the LATEST. I encourage you to go see a Dr. FYI-the testing is not invasive-it is a blood test and a vaginal sono.

sorry to butt in but the dr thought i had PCOS too b/c i had very irregular periods and have always been a late ovulater and had the inconclusive sono, etc. and i got pregnant on a cycle when i O'd on day 25 (and prior to that my doctor was not concerned that i O'd late as much as she was concerned maybe i wasnt ovulating at all) ,so i dont think there is ever a time where the "egg" quality is not good. it could be your just not ovulating
