One day in Los Angeles- before a cruise, throw out some ideas to me on what to do, eat, see,etc
I was in California 8 yrs ago, and saw the Chinese theatre, tour of stars homes, the hollywood sign,Universal, tour of tv station, went to The Ivy to eat lunch. We are leaving for a California coastline cruise soon, and will be in LA for 1 day before we get on the ship. (we are renting a car, it is cheaper then to take a cab). We were thinking of seeing where the Rose bowl is, maybe Santa Monica pier, eating dinner at The Queen Mary. But would like some additonal ideas we are not set yet on what to do. We will be flying in and in LA by 10:30 AM. Bring on the suggestions! Thanks!

We are going to LA for a few days the end of April for a wedding. All I can think about is In and Out Burger How about a hike up to the Hollywood sign?? Different and a bit away from the "tourist" track.

The first day of our honeymoon to New Zealand DH and I got stuck in LA for a day due to plane delays. We went on a tour from the hotel that stopped at a ton of places including some of the ones you've already seen, but also Rodeo Drive & The Grove / Farmer's Market which was fun...i think Santa Monica is a great idea or exploring some of the beach towns like Manhattan Beach, Hermosa & Redondo.

Santa Monica is a great place to walk around. There are great shops and restaurants all around there.
I checked out Venice Beach and Venice Canals - it was a quick walk around and maybe spent only 30 mintes
You can check out Griffith Park and Griffith Observatory which is free.
