One more stroller question: full-size vs. lightweight
I'm sorry to keep bothering everyone, but I'm getting so overwhelmed by all of this.
Do you have a full-size stroller and a lightweight one? Is one better to get/more useful than the other?
For the full-size, I'm thinking about checking out the Peg Perego Pliko P3 and the Maclaren Quest. Right now, I'm not sure which lightweight ones I want to check out, possibly a Maclaren (Quest Sport, Volo or Triumph).
Does anyone have any of those brands? Are there any other full-size or lightweight strollers that you recommend?
Thank you for your help.

Re: One more stroller question: full-size vs. lightweight
I have the Peg Perego Pliko P3 as my one and only stroller!!
It is not as lightweight as some, but lightweight enough. It also folds compactly, has a basket, has a tray with cupholder, adult cupholder, full recline and huge canopy. I used it as travel system when DS was little. He is now 15 months. I love it and think it's a great all around stroller. I've never had the need to purchase another stroller.

Re: One more stroller question: full-size vs. lightweight
I have the Peg Perego Aria - the lightweight one. It was between that one and the Maclaren. I loved the Maclarens but they didn't have a snack tray. That was important to me just because I think dd will use it a lot. It may not be important to you though so it all depends.

Re: One more stroller question: full-size vs. lightweight
I have a full sized that was part of our Chicco Discovery travel system. I use the big stroller when we're going to be out for a long full day of walking around (like if we went to Montauk or a festival). I also use it when we go for our morning walks.
I also have a Chicco Trevi lightweight stroller. I use this one for quick runs to the store, when we're at the mall and I don't wanna manuever the big one through racks an aisles, and when we take a light packing trip like when we went to the city cause it also has a shoulder strap for carrying and is easy on the train. It's also easy to keep in my trunk on an everyday basis and have room for everything else.
I love both and I prefer having both. Do I absolutely need both? No. I could live with just having one or the other.

Re: One more stroller question: full-size vs. lightweight
I have a full sized - Bumbleride Flyer - but it's pretty light and I can attach the carseat to it. DD is young still - 6wks - so the need for a lightweight stroller isn't there yet.

to me, its apples and oranges.
full size is for long walks
I have a maclaren that I keep in the car. I love it as a lightweight stroller, but every bump is felt, not the comfort that a full size gives.

Re: One more stroller question: full-size vs. lightweight
I have 3 strollers:
Chicco Cortina ---- 23 lbs. Great for long walks, laying DS down for naps, laying him flat for quick diaper changes, large basket for me, very sturdy, etc. It takes up a lot of room in the trunk so we don't take it when we have a lot to pack
Peg Perego Aria ------ 8 lbs. Very light, he can nap in it too. Do not like the pull strings to move the seat up and down. It's an OK stroller, not my favorite nor do I think it is worth the $200 price tag. (the same issue with the Pliko I think, the pull string seat up and down and I don't think it goes Flat, I think it still has an angle)
Especially for Baby Umbrella Stroller ----- 5lbs. Very light, very small fold up Great for travel. Unfortunately it does not recline, there is no basket and it is so light weight that it tips if you put anything on the handles. But great for quick uses.
If I were you, I would start with a full size stroller. That way DC can lay down and nap, have a bottle, etc ..... then eventually you can get a a lightweight/umbrella stroller.

Re: One more stroller question: full-size vs. lightweight
I have the Graco Quattro Tour which stays at the babysitter's house and the Maclaren Quest at my house. The Graco is about twice the size and weight of the Maclaren. I love both of them.
The Graco is great for going shopping and for taking long walks because it handles really well and has a large basket. The Maclaren is nice too because it's so lightweight but the basket is small, which is the case for just about all lightweight strollers.
ETA: Just wanted to add after reading Elbee's post, that one of the reasons I chose the Maclaren Quest over any of the other lightweight strollers is because of the way it reclines. I hate that pull-string thing and refused to buy any stroller with it because it looks like a PITA.

Re: One more stroller question: full-size vs. lightweight
When I just had DS the Pliko P3 was my only stroller. I never felt the need to get anything smaller. It folds up so compactly and I never felt it was heavy. Actually not totally true, I had a jogger as well, but I just kept that in my garage for walks/jogs in the neighborhood. I hardly took it out in the car because it was too big & bulky.

Re: One more stroller question: full-size vs. lightweight
I have 5 strollers.
Each serves a different purpose.
I have the I'coo Infinity aka Rock Star Baby stroller. I love it for long waks. The suspension is awesome.
I also have a Peg Pliko P3. I love this one too. It's relatively lightweight 17lbs and it's super comfy for baby. I love the snack tray holder. However the parents cupholder is flimsly and the basket is so so. The fold is a little tricky but once you get used to it it's easy. It also folds up like an umbrella stroller. IMO it is extremely durable. Mines is 5 years old (hand me down) and it still looks brand new. The fabric has been washed alot and no tears or fading.
I also have a Maclaren Techno (14lbs). It's awesome for travel...light folds up easy and small. I think it's more appropriate for a larger baby though like maybe 1 year old and up. It's tippy...you can't hang too many bags from the handles because the stroller will flip back. The basket is small too. The Maclaren are also very durable.
I also have a snap n go...ideal for the begininning getting in and out of the car. I have the Kolcraft version which I love. It has a place to put your drinks, keys, etc and the basket is huge.
My newest stroller is the Graco Metrolite. I bought one off of Craigslist to take to FL with us. It's pretty comfy and rides good. The basket is also huge...great for shopping trips. It's also pretty light and folds up easy.
IMO I would put down a full size stroller and a lightweight for later (Maclaren). If you only want to put down one stroller then I would definitely put down the Pliko. It's the best of both worlds.

Thanks. I wasn't sure if the Pliko was enough for a 6+ month old or if I needed a lightweight stroller too. I don't mind registering and/or buying multiple strollers as long as they're useful and serve different purposes.

Re: One more stroller question: full-size vs. lightweight
I really think it depends on how you use your strollers -- some people are perfectly happy with one. Personally, I feel like I need two, because one can't do it all for me.
I use the Maclaren Quest for going into the city, in airports, and shopping. It's a great, light-weight stoller, but it's not comfortable enough either for me or DS for long-term use.
I have a BOB Revolution for walking around the neighborhood and for use on day-long trips. It is so easy to push and super-comfortable. I love it.

Same here! No need for a bigger or smaller one- this does it all. I carefully compared stroller weights before purchasing this one.
