One Night Stays In Montauk
DH & I are going to be celebrating my 30th b-day the whole weekend of my b-day. Saturday we are going to see Movin' Out and dinner anywhere I want to go and Sunday (the day of my actual b-day) we are going to Montauk for the day. I feel bad having DH drive 3 hours there and then 3 hours back all in one day so I was thinking of maybe staying the night and coming home on Monday. So I was wondering if anyone knows any places in Montauk that are not inexpensive and do one night stays? I tried calling a few places and either they want $300 for the night or there is a 2 night minimum.

I'm not sure where you live, but this time of year the drive to Montauk is not bad at all. We live in Seaford and DH and I drive out for the day quite often.
In my experience, you either have to pay a TON, or 2 night minimum and even then, usually quite expensive for usually musty rooms. Did you try Montauk Manor? THey are the only place I remember not requiring a minimum.

Montauk is a tough one... very frustrating.
Maybe try to stay at a hotel in the Riverhead area? where you are only driving about an hour and then stopping? Plus you can go to the outlets the next day

We live in Brooklyn so the drive is about 3 hours. I called Montauk Manor and they told me that I can call the night before and see if they have a room available.

Thanks Cheryl. I thought about that and spoke to Michael about that and he said that he did not want to do that. He also said that he would drive back and forth but I feel really bad for him doing that.

Re: One Night Stays In Montauk
Is it this weekend? Memorial Day weekend is tough to get a one night on, and the prices are crazy.

Great minds think alike
I hope you are able to find a place... it's completely robbery out there!!! I won't even tell you how much I'm paying to stay one night at a hotel in the Hamptons for my friend's Bachelorette party...

Re: One Night Stays In Montauk
Oh sorry,July is tough too! I have a 3 night minimum on weekends but, I always tell people to call back closer to the date. I usually have something open up or I can butt it up against another reservation.
I'd try calling Mid June then again at the end of June.

Re: One Night Stays In Montauk
try the Atlantic Terrace, DH and I stayed there and it was only for 1 night. The hotel was clean and is on the beach. It's also in walking distance to Nicky's and a few blocks off of Main Street.

we went last year or the year before in July. We def. got it for one night, sorry they changed the policy.
Why don't you try a different location? Maybe the Jersey shore has one night rentals

Re: One Night Stays In Montauk
I am taking JoAnne advice and waiting and try calling at the end of June to see who has anything available. I actually found one place (Blue Haven Motel) for $135 for the night.

Do you work in a hotel there? If so, which one?

Re: One Night Stays In Montauk
I believe the Montauk Yacht Club has 1-night stays and the prices aren't too horrendous. DH and I stayed there for one night last summer.

I work for Dune Resorts. We manage many of the resorts between East Hampton and Montauk. Unfortunately, the property I manage is in East Hampton and I don't get to look at the ocean all day
