I wanted to do this but Geico told me they don't honor online courses for defensive driving

6 hrs??
its at your own pace but a minimum of 5 1/2 hours- you have up to a month to complete all the lessons. once you complete them, they mail you your certificate within 24 hours hth

not true- they have to- the department of motor vehicles mandates this and they recently sent out a notice to the insurance carriers- if you have any problems with an insurance company accepting it, advise them that you will be contacting the DMV- I will add the complaint website into this post

I took it through USA. It's on the NYSDMV website.
It was $49.
I did it over a few weeks whenever I had time to do a few readings.
They say within two weeks you get your certificate and you send that to your insurance company.
