I think 5 lbs. in 5 weeks is pretty good actually! A pound a week is very realistic. More than that & it becomes harder to keep off.

Re: Only lost 5 pounds in 5wks....
true, thanks!!! I also haven't been exercising...once the weather is warmer I will add walking a few times a week....I can go at lunch time a few days and also on the weekends go with DD. I also know that I am not so strict on the weekends but very strict M-F...I think I am going to try to be more on plan during the weekends too....

I'm in the same boat, 6lbs in 6 weeks & everyone tells me that it is better to do 1lb a week bc it is more realistic. Like you, I am not excercising, so I know if I could find time to do that, I would lose more...

I totally hear you...it is so hard....I think the most important thing is to just keep on going...I wasn't so great this weekend but tomorrow i am going right back on plan !!! Like I said I think the weekends I need to follow it more closely.

Re: Only lost 5 pounds in 5wks....
Slow and steady weight loss is the best way to go! You may have lost 1lb each week...but think about that= it adds uP! Do that for another 5 weeks and you'll be down 10lbs!
My average loss was 1lb per week (some weeks more and some weeks I gained)...but I ended up sticking with and now I'm keeping off almost 60lbs.

Re: Only lost 5 pounds in 5wks....
My first go around with WW it took me 1 year to lose 27 pounds. That's an average of .5lbs/week. It can seem frusterating at first, but I made goal/lifetime in a year - down 27 pounds and kept it off for almost two years until I got pregnant. Slow and steady is absolutely the best for a long term outcome!!!

I have just lost 2 1/2 lbs. in 3 weeks. I have always lost 1 pound a week and I think that is the healthy way to go and to keep it off.

I always get frustrated with 1lb/wk, too. However, recently at a WW meeting the leader made a good point. 1lb/wk is 52lbs in a year! I'd take that!
Keep up the good work!

Re: Only lost 5 pounds in 5wks....
I'm sorry to do this, but THIS is my biggest pet peeve. You're ONLY down 5 pounds????? Why ONLY? What if you ONLY GAINED five pounds? Would you put the same emphasis on it or would that four five suddenly seem so much bigger because it was a gain?
Did you know that one pound is the equivalent of 4 STICKS OF BUTTER???? So your five pounds is the equivalent of 20 sticks of butter!!!!!! Or that if you ONLY lost a pound every week for a year that's 52 pounds??????
One pound a week is actually WW recommended rate of loss. One pound a week is PERFECT.
Sorry for my rant, it's my one rule in my meetings. My members are not allowed to use the terms ONLY and LOST in the same sentence.
Oh, and for the record, I'm saying this in a supportive WW leader way, not saying it to be mean

exactly!
I'm going through the same thing, I'll lose a few lbs one week, then I won't lose any the next. It's so frustrating, but they way I look at it is i'll never see those pounds again! Have to keep yourself positive!
