Only multiple moms can understand...

Last Monday, DS was very sick with a stomach virus to DH took him to the ped. I stayed home with DD.

DH had no problems taking DS out of the car, carrying him to and from the ped office. Holding him in the waiting room and in the examination room waiting for the ped. No stroller needed, easy in and out.

I stayed home with my DD - ONE baby, it was like a breeze! I told DH I felt like I was on a tropical vacation Chat Icon We were laughing and saying how pleasant and easy it was for us!

Then I think of those with triplets or twins and more children - and I don't know how you do it - (but the answer is, you just DO)!

Like I said to you the other day on FB - you are SUCH an inspiration!!! You go to fun places all the time. I am jealous! I am so glad the kiddies are having so much fun. Maybe it will be better/easier for me once they are a little older like yours!

OMG YESSSSSSSSSS! Chat Icon

I was just telling DH that during the day I'm happy even if I can get 1 to nap, so I only have to take care of 1 at a time.

We often joke that we're not sure what parents of singletons have to complain about Chat Icon

Re: Only multiple moms can understand...

That is funny I was just saying that to DH. I took one to the store with me the other day and it was amazing I used a single snap and go and wow what a difference.

I see a TLC show and someone has triplets and think wow I am happy I only have 2. I am sure people who have one think wow I am happy I have one I could never do twins lol.

so true!! i took my 3 to the ped 2 times in the past few weeks and the doc was even impressed i managed 2 yr old twins and a 4 1/2 yr old relatively well, although I felt like we were a crazy bunch in the waiting room. I went back recently with just my DD and it was a breeze!!!

I have a drs. appointment with ONE tomorrow and I am ACTUALLY looking forward to it! I am already planning that I am going to stop at Dunkin Donuts and probably hit a few other errands!

Tripletmom....you are my inspiration as well!! I hope if 2 years I am taking my triplets out to half the places that you and your family venture out to!!! My DH wouldn't even go see the tree in the city when it was just the 2 of us....its going to take a lot of convincing to have him take me and 3 toddles Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Only multiple moms can understand...

I hear ya! We had one baby first (she's now 5), so I should remember how "easy" she was (and she was a tough baby). Last week one twin baby was in the hospital with RSV & pneumonia for 4 days Chat Icon DH & I split the time staying with her and her twin brother was home sick with RSV too (not as bad) so we were doing breathing treatments, etc, but we both realized how "easy" it was with just one (plus their big sister.) We still couldn't wait for her to come home of course.

Re: Only multiple moms can understand...

Oh my gosh, we had the sane experience yesterday!
DD is sick and DS was going stir crazy. So, DH took him out to the grocery store. He rode in the cart and had a great time. I read books and cuddled with DD while watching Toy Story.
Both DH and I were saying how easy and fun it was!
We are, definitely, going to try and plan more time for each of us to spend with one DC. It was soooo nice!

But, I guess it's what you know...if I only had one, I would probably find things that seemed difficult. I, however, have NO clue how you triplet mommies do it!

Re: Only multiple moms can understand...

I agree!! My oldest sister also had twins and she always said people with one child will never understand!! She is right. When my boys were infants my dh and I used to say all the time, "wow one baby would be a walk in the park."
