Open House Question
I am going to an out-of-state open house... What can I expect? What do I bring?
Copies of: Resume Transcripts License & test scores Letters of Recomendations
Portfolio with all of the above and sample lessons, block/unit plans

I think you listed everything there. I would check out the state standards prior to going so you are familiar with your area as well as what you need to do to get certified in that state.

as far as I know you have to take the Praxis to be cert. to teach in NC...but I would still bring everything you mentioned

When I called they said, hold off on registering for the Praxis because they might wave them and to just send all the paperwork and wait for them to decide.

I would hold off on the praxis too, I moved down to the D.C. area and got a job in Maryland, and they actually did everything for me to get a MD certification. Then I ended up switching to a school in Virginia, and they also got my VA certification for me . I did not need to take the praxis exam which both of the states require.
