opening a new credit card ?

i called to open a credit card on sunday, they told me a letter will come in the mail with the decision.

is this the new way cc companys are doing things?

more then likely, you were sent for credit dept for review or you were automatically declined. They can't tell you over the phone you were decline so they will send a notice.

90% of banks will let you open an account with instant approval and start using it ASAP

i was approved!!!! cc will be in the mail in the next few days - i think i put up a red flag with one the of questions they asked

that usually means there is something on your credit report they are reviewing..these days it may mean you will be denied.

that means that's the way they approve credit.

Bank of American did that to me last year. It doesn't mean that you have anything flagged on your credit.

Credit has been tight and there are new rules for getting credit. Card companies are taking more into account before approving credit instantly.

There are still credit cards that you can get approved instantly though.
