Opinion + pedestal table tipping Q
We were thinking of buying this set:
In exactly those colors. We've been trying to find something similar that may be a better quality - or something we could SEE since this set isn't sold in stores. I did see something like it in JCPenney but didn't like the quality.
Anyway, it says it's solid Asian hardwood - no veneers. I've never heard of "asian" hardwood, so I don't know what that means.
Anyone know the deal with this, or get furniture from Sears?
Also, is tipping a big problem with pedestal tables like this? The feet look pretty long.
Thanks anyone and everyone.

Re: Opinion + pedestal table tipping Q
We have a set just like this - but it is all wood tone, not painted white.
There really isn't a tipping issue. Even if you push down while standing up, for the most part it's sturdy. Of course you can't sit on the edge or anything.
We got our set at an all wood furniture store off of Route 110. I wish I remember what the name of it was for you. It was on a sidestreet, going northbound on 110, just north of the train tressle near the multiplex and estelles dressy dresses. I wish I could remember the name, or what street it was... I just remember there was another furniture store across the street with a purple header sign.
I think they make the furniture, they were out of the stain color we wanted so they made it for us - they might do the same for you, painting the white accents...
I'm sorry I can't give you any more details.. maybe take a road trip!

Thanks! I suppose we should do the furniture row thing. I just hate the thought of running from store to store and possibly not finding anything suitable.
I hate shopping in person.

I have a pedestal table in the kitchen. It doesn't wobble or tip at all.
I love it.
