Opinions needed on Entertainment for 1st BDay party...
I am thinking of getting pricing for Elmo and some other entertainer (not a clown per say, but something of the like) as well as just an entertainer.
We're inviting (which may not all come) 25 kids are ages 1-13.
Would just an entertainer be sufficient for these kids? DO I NEED an entertainer? What if I don't have an entertainer, what can I do to keep them entertained??
TIA

I'm going to have about 15 kids, ages 1 - 11. I am not having an entertainer... I hope it's not a mistake. We rented at tent to have it in the yard. We are going to have a decorate your own cupcake station (got the idea from someone on here), a marshmellow toast with the older kids using a fire pit and someone (DH or an uncle) will put tattoos on the kids.
Let me know what you end up doing! I'd love to know your ideas too!

We don't have many kids at all....just 3 or 4 so we aren't getting an entertainer at all.
When my little cousin Nicholas turned one (10 years ago!) my cousin Michele got Elmo and there were NO other kids there, he was the only baby and that was it. She says now what a waste of money it was

I'm also thinking of having some sort of entertainment. I have approximately the same amt. of kids coming. I did not do that for Kate's parties, so it's all new to me as well.
You're having it at home, right? For Kate's I had balls, bubbles, chalk, and I bought a cheap nylon "maze" type tube thing (yeah, that makes sense ). The older boys also ended up playing baseball. I was also thinking of craft stations, but am afraid they would become trashed...we have mostly boys in the mix!

I guess wanting a small, family birthday party at your house went out the window
I used Twinkletown for DS's christening. I think they may have characters....
ETA: I went to a 1st b-day party and they had Pablo from Backyardigans come with a clown and they did cotton candy, games, sang songs and pictures. I dont remember the name of the company though.

Re: Opinions needed on Entertainment for 1st BDay party...
Thanks for the opinions. I am afraid it will be a waste of money. I just spoke with DH and we've decided he is going to brush up on his Balloon animal making skills (a hobby he took up about 4 yrs ago) and I will pick up some temporary tattoos, balloons, chalk, etc.
I did decide we'll just get one of those inflatable jumping thingies (I'm as good as you Erin ) I have seen those at some decent prices, and it can be fun for more ages.
Decision made! Phew!

I kind of finagled a few more in there! I just kept saying "Baby, can I invite...?" or "Babe, do you want to invite...?"

He has not (nor will he) the list. He is SO not a planner and wants very little to do with planning things....he knows that is my forte.
