Opinions Needed PLEASE About 20 Week Appointment-Level 2

I have my 20 week appointment on May 27. I was told they do it in my actual Drs office. Someone I told seemed suprised saying you USUALLY have to go somewhere else for your level 2. Do you think I am making a mistake by having it done in house and should request a referral to go elsewhere or trust that they do do it in house and feel lucky for that? I just hate to go, then be told their machines couldn't detect enough and then have to go elsewhere. Opinions PLEASE!

Thanks and by the way, just finished my 17th week and still barely feel pregnant. Since I am overweight its hard to tell (maybe a bit) and no movement yet (unless what I think is gas bubbles sometimes is flutters). Cannot wait to get through another month!

Re: Opinions Needed PLEASE About 20 Week Appointment-Level 2

I had a Level 2 sonogram with my first due to test results that we were confirming, but I was surprised (and a bit disappointed) to find that my doctors usually do not do an actual Level 2 sonogram at 20 weeks, its an anatomy scan...more indepth than a typical sonogram, but not an actual Level 2 sonogram...

Re: Opinions Needed PLEASE About 20 Week Appointment-Level 2

all of my sonos have been in my dr's office- except one, where i had to go to a specialist because there was a dot on the baby's heart- i think it really just comes down to what type of equipment your dr's office has... i have a friend whose dr doesnt have a sono machine and has to go elsewhere for each sono...

all of my sonograms have been in my dr's office - they have a great sonogram machine and sono techs that work on site. why would you think you would need to go somewhere else?

I never even thought about that Chat Icon my ultrascreen was the only sono done outside of the dr's office. The level II (or anatomy scan, I didn't know there was a difference!) is tues and is done in house.

the only thing different about this sono is that it's the first one in their office that the Dr is NOT doing himself. I have an appt with a sono tech and then an appt with the dr.
