Opinions on camps?
My town offers a M-F 8:30-2:30 camp with transportation for a very reasonable price for special needs kids.
It says that students range from speech impairment to Down's Syndrome. DS has SP, OT and SEIT on his IEP. It is suspected that he has ADHD, but they won't diagnose him until 5.
DH is against this camp maintaining that he doesn't want DS picking up atypical behavior.
2/3 of his therapists think this camp would be good for him (the other wants us to keep him in his preschool/daycare, but I'm off for the summer and going on maternity leave in September, so I don't want to kill ourselves financially.) all 3 of his therapists believe that he will qualify for services over the summer.
the other option is M-F 9-12 playground camp with 1 certified teacher, 2 counselors and 1-3 CITs for about 15-20 kids. I don't think I would choose to have his services done at the camp, but later in the day at home.
any opinions?

Re: Opinions on camps?
I think the camp sounds good, it's only a few months. You have to do what you're comfortable with though.

Re: Opinions on camps?
Is the camp the one run by the TOH?
My daughter went there for years. I was always very happy with them...
We've been sending her to Camp Kehilla for the past 6 years or so. I cant say enough good things about them....
Please feel free to FM me...
