Opinions on Neutral bedding set?

So DH and I both LOVE the lion king, always have, so it was awesome when we went to BRU and saw a neutral bedding set since we're team Chat Icon Lion king theme (baby simba and nala)

The second DH saw it he was like "I WANT THIS ONE!!!" it's really adorable...

and I looked on BRU website too, and it's listed as a neutral set, but my main concern is the leopard print...

I'm worried that if Chat Icon ends up being Chat Icon , the leopard print will be a little too much for a boy's room...it's not so bad in the bedding crib part itself, but more the room accents...the Valence is mostly leopard print, the changing pad cover is all leopard print, and the lamp shade is leopard print...

Please let me know if you agree with me, that this is not OK for a boy, or if you think I'm being over paranoid and it's truly "neutral"?

Also, if it is too much, maybe we just don't register for a changing pad cover til we know Chat Icon orChat Icon or jus get a tan one? And pick out a different valence?

Thanks so much! :)

oh yeah...here's a pic: 1st the bedding itself, then the room setup w/all the leopard!

Thbedding is really cute and neutral. If you are worried about the small things you can change it and pic something in colors that match for the valence and changing pad cover. I would leave the lamp.

Thanks...yeah I thought the lamp was OK once I saw it in person, but definitely true about changing the other small things to match but not be leopard!

I'm so NOT flexible in my head sometimes that easy fixes like that go right over my head!! DH will be happy! :)

thanks! if it wasn't for DH's affinity towards the lion king, he probably wouldn't either, I know what you mean about the brightness (or lack thereof) but we know regardless of the bedding, we are doing white raised paneling and a chair rail, and painting the top half of the walls in a gender speficic color...

so I'll have to start matching colors for that now...being the bedding is lighter, I can go a little brighter with the paint...the decals will probably stand out better on a brighter color, too. I'm not even sure yet what colors for each sex, but we figured that's how we'd make the room gender specific...the day LO is born, my Dad and DH will come home to paint...it's not a huge room and only half the wall, so it will be done quick

Orange might be nice!! Didn't even think of that!

yeah for a girl, I was looking at it to see if there's any shade of pink in it at all, but only the lions' noses have that very light peach/pink color...so I didn't think that would work...

I was thinking possibly a lavender type shade that goes nice with the greens in the bedding

I know what you ladies mean...it does seem like alot of the "neutral" sets are great for boys and "ok" for girls...

there are lots of Safari and Jungle ones that are "neutral" but seem so much more boyish...at least this one is Disney and has the leopard print...DH and I both are not fans of Winnie the Pooh so all of those were out...

there was a cute under the sea one I liked too that's "neutral" but its practically ALL BLUE!!! so that just can't really be neutral to me...lol

I would get it and swap out the pieces that you think make it feel "girly".

I know how you feel because I love Winnie the Pooh and most of the sets I've seen are pretty gender neutral but if we have a boy I'm a little hesitant about it for some reason. I just figure I'll swap some things to make it feel more "boy" if it's a boy because I really love Winnie the Pooh and I think it would be so cute.

I think the Lion King Set is great and will totally work for a boy Chat Icon
